History behind your Avatar

I get bored easily so I change it periodically. I like to make it somewhat comical to keep you guyz merrily amused.
As for the name: It is simply the name of an adult insect, and I used to flyfish.
Ever seen an adult dragonfly navigate a stream looking for food?
Hint: they know EXACTLY where to go and do it with precision.
They are aggressive too! They'll buzz you if you are close to their food source.
Their "lunch" never knew what hit them. ;)

As a teenager I started playing at Obelisk Billiards Club (OBC) in Denbigh, VA. It was a great 1990s upscale room in a bad part of Newport News, VA. A common second spot for players making a pilgrimage to Q-Master. Jim and Pat were the owners. "Tree," was the local pro; he was an older guy and former road player. Great family, and a great place to learn the game. Jim died unexpectedly quite young and the place eventually folded. Every time I drive by the old place I wish it were still open.

No shock when I saw that I was a geek in high school. Used to play a lot of D&D and there was a comic that ran in the back of the monthly D&D magazine with a snooker playing dragon. I used to use an image that I grabbed from online, but a few years ago, JP Parmentier (who is a great artist in addition to his photo taking skills) drew me the logo in color. That photo still sits in my wall here at my desk.

Was just playing with AI the other day. Had the Smorgie badge for over 10 years previously.

Twofold...
1. It's Simpkin - one of our favorite sons that came to us as a two-month old after a very severe thunderstorm many years ago. After extensive efforts to find his family no one came forth, so he joined us. After a good life he passed from kidney failure several years back.
2. My reaction when I read posts in rule discussion threads from people that don't bother studying the rules I wrote closely enough to GET IT!!!! There's one going on right now...***sigh***. Guess I'll have to chime in eventually.
P.S. The writing is frequently not perfect, but REALLY??? ARRGHHH!!!!! Slow down and READ!

If I remember correctly, that dragon and his comic strip was named Wormy. He was wanted for buying a mail-order War-Gaming kit that included live orcs -- unfortunately the package delivery was delayed, and the orcs ended up starving in transit.

One of my favorite characters from that strip was the Gaggle-Zoomer lizard that went from zero to sixty whenever anything touched its back (it was used to pull a wagon). Whenever my cat suddenly sprints around the house, we still call it "gaggle-zooming."

My avatars a picture of a Pittsburgh pool hall in North Hills that no longer exist , it was called Chalkys.
It was the 1st pool hall I frequented, prior that ,, a couple beat down valley 7' footers in some hole in the wall bars was my only experience with pool.
Chalkys was were I cut my teeth so to speak, 1st time shooting on a 9 footer, 1st experience with double shimmed pockets, it was also were I 1st realized, in the world of pool/ billiards, I wasnt shi+.
I took a bunch of Ls on those tables, but in the end all the Ls help me sharpen my skills, eventually I became a level 8, & was winning alot more than I lost.
That avatar is bitter sweet, because alot of ppl I conversed / shot with there , are longer with us, quite a few unfortunately passed pre maturely.

None the less , I learned alot at that place & Ill always cherish the memories , the good as well as the bad. .

I like Kirby. Kirby is round.
My name is just a bit of fun. I live far from my home and so have to mix with a varied, temporary and transient crowd. As a result, naturally I am no stranger to an Irish goodbye.

I was in Seattle two months ago and attended the Seahawks/Dolphins game with some friends. A buddy took this picture. One girl has an older Dolphins logo on her rear end, while the other is paying homage to wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.
