Little Joe Villalpando's DVD's are easily the best/most useful instructional videos I've seen.
About a month ago I got a pm from Little Joe Villalpando offering to come to me and give me a lesson. He had noticed that I live about an hours drive from him, had noticed that I post quite a lot and practice a lot so he wanted to share with me his kicking method and his cue ball control methods.
He made the trip here yesterday and we spent several hours together. Joe was a real treat to talk to and did an excellent job of systematically describing his precise methods for learning how to kick. When he got done I had a system, no guessing... but a SYSTEM that virtually guaranteed that I would be able to make just about any kick I wanted. He had me going three rails and hitting balls in the middle of the table, on the rails, everywhere! I've never been able to do that consistently. Sometimes I'd get lucky but his system was virtually fool-proof. I was absolutely astounded.
We then worked on cue ball control. Joe has an extremely precise system worked out that makes it much easier to get the cb to go precisely where you want it, and again.... No more guessing. He has it nailed and it's easy to learn (I'm old and I learned it!
)
He gives lessons so you can call him and get a lesson and/or you can get these systems on his DVD's. ?Little Joe Villalpando's Pool I.Q Volumes 1 and 2?.
If you want to be able to hit just about any ball on the table his kicking SYSTEM (no guessing!!!!) will enable you to do just that.
I'm really pumped about this tool. All the other lessons I've had prior to this focused on the stroke and pretty much the stroke only. But this lesson, which was right off the DVD's, is teaching me how to PLAY the game. I'm learning a precise system that shows how to get whitey around the table and go precisely where I want it. After working with this for a few months I'll pick up at least a ball and I predict two balls. Cue ball control is the name of the game and these systems will take years off the process of learning how to get the cb where you want it.
Joe has 50+ years experience as a pool player and has been a road player for good part of his life. He has the stories to prove it and he KNOWS pool backwards and forwards. I was very impressed with him as a guy, with his knowledge of pool and with his ability to teach what he knows. I've spent many hours taking lessons from pros like Jeff Carter, Mark Wilson, Sailor of Racine and George Fels so I know if a guy knows his pool stuff and Little Joe is a fountain of pool knowledge and an excellent communicator of his knowledge.
I highly recommend his DVD's. Check out www.pooliq.net
