He is already beaten by Kiamco and Loree Jon Jones and if he will be beaten by the unbeaten Steve Moore he will be definitely be out. :o

When he lost to the superb Warren Kiamco, it wasn't too surprising, but the loss to Loree Jon is a real shocker. Congratulations to Loree Jon.

If Thorsten beats Stevie Moore, he advances, otherwise, he's out.

Marcus Chamat is in hot water, too.

Wish I was there sweating it!

Stevie lost to Kiamco but I believe if he wins just 3 games off Thorman he will beat him percentage wise?

Based on my own calculation (i could be wrong) he needs to win
it 8-1, or 8-2 or 8-3 otherwise he will be out. Even if he wins
8-4 he will have a winning percentage of 51.11% and Steve Moore has at least 53%
even if he loses 8-4.
Now Loree Jon Jones has 51.16 so Hohmann could be out! :o
 
Loree Jon beating Thorsten, and in such dominating fashion, has to be the upset of the tournament by far!

Man I wish I was there, too.

I really didnt think she had it in her- 5 B and R's Wow!

If Th doesn't get through-Who will be the first to say "He isn't hungry anymore".

My math shows Hohman needing an 8-3 win over Moore to advance with
Loree needing Hohman to win 8-2 for her to advance.

Damn, 5 break and runs by Loree, outstanding!

Ladies are playing well. LJJ has certainly scored the biggest upset of the event. Sarah Ellerby, Kelly Fisher and Karen Corr look sure to advance. In fact, with a win over Aaron Franken, Karen Corr can finish first in Group 20!
 
Possibilities

If Hohmann loses he is out.
If he wins but Moore wins more than three Hohman is out.
If he wins and Moore wins 3 LJJ is out.
If he wins and Moore wins 2 or less Moore is out.
 
Good God, would Hohman possibly pony up some of that 350k to Moore in
order to guarantee an 8-3 result?

That article assumed that Thorsten would beat LJJ.
 
Pleased to see that, by virtue of his win over Johl Younger, Tony Robles is now assured a spot in round 2.
 
It's not beyond the realm of possibilities that players can cut a deal for a % of future winnings for a desired result in the last match.


In fact, it happened at the NAO more than a few times.


TH is a good horse...WK would be smart to cut a deal with him. Might be lucrative. Everyone has a bad round sometimes. TH could go all the way again if he can get over this bad day.


After seeing this sort of thing happen at the NAO...I'm convinced that the round robin is no more a test of skill than a double elimination. It is corrupt. This is why GLI was better. It destroys the incentive to participate in this activity. Deno knew wtf he was doing, but the whiners who wanted win % can now live with the corruption that did happen and will happen.


Anyway, to stay on topic. LJJ with 5 break and runs against TH? Wow. That's the best way (maybe only way) to beat him! Good for her.
