Hole Reinforcement Labels and Cloth Discoloration

I wanted to inform anyone using hole reinforcement labels that I just noticed a slight discoloration on my table’s Simonis 860HR where I had placed the Avery #6734 reinforcement labels as well as Avery multicolored hole reinforcement labels. If anyone knows of a hole reinforcement label product with an adhesive that does not discolor cloth, please let me know. Thanks!

Doesn't look like a discoloration to me. Are you sure its not just that that circle has been protected from dust/chalk? Also, when you peel up the sticker, it takes up chalk dust as well. I get those all the time and they usually go away after a day or two of playing.

You could also try getting a damp cloth and sponging the area to get excessive chalk dust up and see if it helps.

This is exactly what it is. I had little white circles burned into the cloth from the ball skidding off the spot. Eventually, you can remove the labels and use them for frequent drill setups.

On a side note, I took great pleasure in marks on the cloth, like the white run lines down the rails and inside the pocket facings. It means you've been working hard and it's a badge of honor.
Cloth that is pristine for many years means you haven't been playing enough.

To the OP, I've used the same spots from Avery, but in white, and they didn't effect the cloth. There are clear spots that I'm using now and the adhesive isn't as strong, so you might like this as well.
 
Thanks, everyone. I'll give those clear ones a try, and I'll see if I can get what I thought was a discoloration up.

I noticed the same thing some time ago - it looked to me like some adhesive stayed on the cloth when the donut was removed, which then collected dust. I'm pretty sure they were the clear ones.

So maybe it'll come off? I think they were less noticeable when they weren't left on very long.

The highlighted part is what I've found on my table.
 
I always put them between my fingers and rub them to kill the adhesive some before putting them on the cloth. They are just a little bit too sticky right off of the roll. This helps a lot with what you are experiencing.

I've had the white avery ones on my table for years off and on. Sometimes I leave the same pattern for months. I don't have any issues with discoloration after the next day.

In fact, the pattern on my table now has been there for 6 months, and I practice it every few days. I actually have some stickers loosen up and fall off. And I can barely find the spot it came from. YMMV:)

I had a similar issue. I have used the white donut holes for years without any problems ( Simonis 860HR) and little to no residue left on the cloth. But a few months ago, I got some multi colored ones - don’t remember the brand because I threw them away after experiencing too much glue residue left on the cloth that was very hard to get off - they left marks very similar to what shows in your picture. There was a very pronounced dark ring left from the adhesive that has stayed on the table despite some light scrubbing with a little detergent and wet cloth.

Here's something to think about every time you go see them in the future.

When I was in the Navy, the office folks used to refer to them as "Paper A$$holes".

First heard the term in the 1960's still bangin' around inside after all these years.
It's fun to be easily amused... :)
