Holy Smoke!!!

Hold on. I've gotta stop right there (I didn't even READ the rest of your post).

That metaphor has been used COUNTLESS TIMES, for EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN since 1978. (Including about five times per page in every CTE thread on this forum.)

That you choose NOW to claim it's some justifiable faux pas to excoriate ME about really can only demonstrate one thing: you're certifiable.

So that makes it right? It's a faux pas TO ME. I don't like it and don't use it because TO ME it represents a tragedy where some of the people were FORCED to drink the kool-aid and as such were murdered.

At least I am not wasting a Berkley education slumming on a pool forum and blandly throwing out references to mass murders to put down people I don't even know.

If you had any idea how ridiculous that makes you look... :rotflmao1:

Ditto. If you had any idea how ridiculous you look. You forget that we know all that you know about playing pool but you don't know what we know.

Anyone can plot out trajectories with a excel sheet. Now go and learn what I know and then we will be on equal footing when discussing CTE.

Until then your whole position is based on ignorance of the actual method.

Two rather incendiary sentences to juxtapose: Only those who SELL can sell CRAP.

DUH. You're a fountain of insight aren't you. Quiz for you then, what is the basis of all human transactions?

Let's see if you skipped that class or not.

uh...or else the moral of the story is: If two people take opposite sides of a yes-no bet then one will end up being right and the other wrong--and no matter WHAT, the one who was right will go around saying "I KNEW it!"

No. Shows you know less about betting than you do about CTE.

GetMeThere...You're right...SPF does represent the most knowledgeable, most active group of professional instructors...and we all teach the same thing (mostly the same way). Too bad you'll never avail yourself of an opportunity to learn something new...but then again, maybe you're already a closet U.S. Open Champion!

Uh...yeah.

Sorry. I don't really know my way 'round the kool-aid fountains yet. I thought the "SPF" moniker represented a certain....oh....very tight "instructors clique."

What do I know. I've just been here a short time.

Yeah...

So...if you "all teach the same thing (mostly the same way)" is the sight of you all standing in a circle patting each other on the back (or substitute any "circle activity" that comes to mind) supposed to generate a lot of..."forum excitement" or something??

Yes it is. Because these guys have a reputation to maintain since they are active on the forums. The incentive, since you dodged the earlier question, to not teach crap is that this would be pointed out by the forum members who paid for lessons if the content was crap.

It's a really simple equation, in a small closed society the members have to transact with each other very honestly or face expulsion.

Your continued implication that because they SELL access to CTE that they are no better than snake oil salesmen is nonsense. Notice that throughout history the sellers of Dr. Feelgood have made themselves scarce after delivering the hype and hoodwinking the town with colored water. In the modern era they hide behind front companies.

These guys that you knock so hard are here every day plying their trade. They have been a part of the game for decades. Who are you?

Some asshole who doesn't know a pool table pocket from a hole in the ground.

Honestly who do you think you are to come on here and put down the people who work in this business just because you disagree with one part of what they teach?

If anyone here has ZERO credibility it's an anonymous troll. While you ONCE might have been truly interested in debating the HOW of CTE, you certainly aren't now. It was clear to me however from your very first post that you just wanted to troll.

At least though you presented a semblance of honest debate. Now it's just you getting your jollies by being insulting.

Well whatever, you'll be gone someday and CTE will keep right on being taught.

And someday you'll be playing in a tournament and someone will shoot a great shot against you and in your astonishment you will ask them how they did it and they will say, "CTE baby! If it ain't CTE it ain't aiming."

And you'll say, "but CTE doesn't work, it can't work, I have charts that prove it." And your opponent will look at you with a little pity mixed with sadness and say gently, "do you want me to tell them you lost or will you do it?"

No need. I'm done posting. I'm not interested in posting on a forum where commercial interests control what can be posted and what can't.

The original thread was doing fine--most ugliness had significantly ABATED except for the "one-liner" crowd whose ONLY input were insulting wisecracks.

I do have to acknowledge Wilson's fairness in not banning me despite calls from, apparently, people who couldn't stand to have their ideas challenged. My posts weren't against the rules (at least by Wilson's interpretation, obviously, since I wasn't banned), but they just "couldn't be tolerated" by people who can't stand having their favorite ideas challenged. I can only assume that Wilson chose a "middle ground" by "banning" the thread instead of me--either of which he could or can do anytime he pleases.

But in my case he doesn't have to. I'm not interested in posting here anymore.

Had a change of heart? :lmao:

John,

Don't even acknoledge this guy. He's already stated that he no longer has any interest in posting here and will cease doing so, hopefully he keeps his word.

Ken, Thanks for your help!

Your large font in your reply to Joey usually is used to convey yelling or anger. That's why someone might not understand your tone. I did read some of your other posts and the reason you aren't getting the answers you are looking for might be the tone you are using.

ususally yes....The large font was basically because I was just copying what JoeyA did to me (or indirectly to me through Dave) when he gave me the big "patooey"...(it was sarcasm)

I understand how you could probably miss the reference...it was probably more of an inside joke.

I have no ill will toward JoeyA, CTE, or drive by mockers.

I don't think it is my tone...I think it is more that those "in the know" don't want to tell me because they feel that it will hinder me buying Stan's DVD...It apparantly gives away some secrets....reality is the answers I seek would make me more apt to buying the DVD.....The "non answer" makes me skeptical.

One of the main questions I have had all along.

How do you send the OB to a place other than the corner pocket from any random specific set up using CTE...what adjustments do you make to adjust the trajectory.

(If you...or anyone...wants to PM me the answer to this riddle...I promise to keep it a secret)

I have had answers of "no paralell shift" and "aim different" ...I have not been able to figure out what that means...

I am not looking for math or algorithms or spreadsheets...I could give a crap about that...I am just looking for a real world application of the method.

I have experimented with all of the information I can find....and again...all of the "in the know" people aint talkin.....It is always....get a lesson or move on.

Well....the reason I come on here is becuase I don't have the means to get said lesson...There is not really anyone in Arizona that I know of that is in the know anyway other than Coco Cowboy....I can pretty much guarantee...he aint talken either.

OK, now I understand...time for you to move on or pony up some $$$ for some lessons.

MM

Yup...standard mums the word answer when it comes to CTE.

I will move on....I am done with taking this thread in the wrong direction.

I am happy for Pooltchr learning new methods that are apparantly very effective for him.

I hope others are able to get the same effectiveness and improvement to his/her shotemaking.

Perhaps others Like Scott, Randy, and Stan will continue to be able to advance CTE into bigger and better alignment methods.

Peace out:):)

First time I've seen you be correct. Good job!
SPF Instructors total is at 167 around the World. That is a very tight clique.

Thanks

OK, so CTE sucks. SAM sucks. Same Aim sucks. BCA instructors suck.

Could you let me know what pool related things you feel don't suck?

You are probably right. In fact, since you seem to have made up your mind that you're right, then your reality is that you are right.
Don't bother to try and learn it. It won't happen. Continue to do what you are doing.

Now, for anyone who has an open mind, and is willing to try new things in an effort to improve, well, my advice would be very different.

Open minds open doors.

Guys I'm gonna run a 50/50 drawing. $10/chance. Pick how many days it'll take for GMT to get perma-banned (or say he's "done" posting again).

"But-but-but Shawn, you forgot SPF!! SPF must suck, too! Afterall, doesn't it stand for 'ome [P]retentious [F]ool'?" :p

-Sean <-- apologizes to the SPF instructors for this tag-along opportunity for humor -- much needed in this thread, IMHO.

He probably thinks SPF has something to do with sunblock. Sunblock is a good thing......
