To anybody that has a Pool table in a 15x11 size room what was the biggest size table you were able to get away with ? I know about the space guide for table size that will fit in rooms, im not interested in that, I want to know if you can get away with a bigger size then what the charts suggest.

Yes small room, but the argument I'm having with my self is i have the right amount of room length wise, the guide say 15 feet for a 9 footer which I have, but width wise I will really need a shorter cue maybe even use my jump cue. This small room will be short term then will go in a 30 by 25 room. I just don't want to regret getting a smaller table for now until I can relocate the table about a year down or so down the line.

A good way to see how much room you need is to add 5' all around the size of the table. A 9 footer needs at least a 14.5' x 19' room to play with standard sticks...

What "guide" says you need just 15' for a 9' table? Not even close whatsoever! 9' table plus 5'(cue length) of room on each end equals 19' and that is considered bare minimum. Ball on end cushion and you will need short cue for any backstroke.

NINE FOOT TABLE: 4.5' X 9'
(Playing area: 50" x 100")

A - 12' 6" x 16' 6"
B - 13' x 17'
C - 14' x 18'

Even that ^^^ says 18' for a regular cue. Everyone knows even that is too small. Manufacturer charts want you to buy a table. Do the math . Either way, good luck and i hope it works out. Go with the 9' in your room, I'm sure it will be ok. I am going to a tourney this afternoon. later!

Shove a nine-footer into a corner.....you'll have one end and one side to practise.
....a ball return is ideal for this.
...after all, it's only temporary and it'll keep you in stroke.

I know a cue-maker that did this.....he finally sold the table,,,said he misses it...
...now when he goes to a pool hall, he's out of stroke.

This is what I am thinking, at least it will already be in the house and would just need to move it into the other room down the line. Staying in stroke on half a table is better than being out of stroke with no table.

That's your best option if you're dead-set on a 9-foot table.

30x25 is huge. How do you go from only having a 15x11' and then into a 30x25' in the same house?

I would just wait and set it up once...

30x25 will be used as a spare bedroom for a few months, I have the money now and just might spend it on something else if I just wait.

Lol the 15x11 is the garage.

Got and wet is good sometimes, but for the air surrounding a pool table.

Garage in the mid Atlantic can really mess up wood, especially particle board.

Go big!

I think it is a good idea to allow a minimum of 5' 6" on all 4 sides of the table.
