House cues

I have been using Valley Supreme cues as the house cues for my home table. However, I am thinking of replacing them with some lower priced production cues as I think it will look nicer to have a rack with different looking cues, It will definitely cost more but I was considering Dale Perry Cues from eBay or maybe just getting a variety of Lucky cues. Any other cues at or around $100 I should be considering? This is purely an aesthetics issue as the Valleys have always served their purpose well.

There was a pool hall in AK that had the McD Lucky cues as house cues. He glued them together at the joint so people couldnt just pop them in their case and walk out with them.

Another cool thing he did was color code them by weight. All the 18s were natural maple, the 19s blue, reds 20 etc. With a little card on each cue rack telling what color was what weight.

I always thought that was a nifty idea.

I was at room in Vegas with no cue and went off the wall. They had diamond branded 1pc units and they were really nice...pro taper.

I cant say they were nice looking cues but if you spend a little more they may get prettier, one hall I went to had Cuetec 1 piece cues, I thought they hit very nice. I think they are fiberglass???

^^^ Exactly what he said ^^^

I have a buddy that comes over to the house with a one-piece Dufferin. He loves it. Paid about $40 for it.

Just watch Craigslist or a private selling app and pick up different brands. You will get better quality than buying from retail. Maybe someone will even play you for a discount.

:clapping:

New Rhino, Kaiser, and J&J cues only $50 each.

Or have the Valley Supreme cues made into two piece sneaky petes and you'll have

good old original Meucci sneaky petes.

I always liked the older McDermott house cues, but on my "house" table which is a shop table, I just have a variety of old school to new school cues, old Viking, Mali, McDermott, helmstetter, dufferin...just a variety of decent, not low end, but nothing high end to choose from. Every now and then someone likes one so much they offer to buy it. Mike D actually bought the old Mali that I had sitting on the rack and raved about it...and it was my least favorite. So you never know, variety is the life of spice, just collect some cheap but decent cues, I wouldn't settle for one specific make or model.
