How Bad I Am Nowadays

You’re aren’t alone in mediocrity friend. This game is nearly as vexing as golf.
yes, golf is so much worse and harder to keep in stroke with outdoor weather conditions and ever rising prices. is amazing how close the games and fundamentals are../

where did you leave the Q ball after making the 2 ball?

I tried to hit it with a little low right. Usually I hit that shot a little too hard so I let up a little. Which was too much. I ended up where the gray CB is and undercut the 3B. End of very simple run out. I'm as bad as it gets.

I guess I should have gone a little inside.

hitting the QB you probably let up on your stroke because of a possible scratch in the side pocket opposite of where the 3B is

L english or H middle takes potential scratches out of the shot

Based on the location of the 3B the only place you don't want the QB to land is the opposite long rail from where the 3B is and straight in

whatever you do DON"T nonchalant, once you select a shot commit to it and pool the trigger

doesn't matter if your practicing or playing serious pool, if you don't do this your wasting your time

I failed to get this out. I made five balls on the break and didn't get this out. I didn't even make the 3B. That's how bad I am anymore. Ray Charles could have just about ran this rack.

Yes you probably should have gotten out from there but everyone blows easy outs. It’s part of being human, plus it’s so easy to take layouts like this for granite. Remember also for every out that you dog when it should be easy there’s probably a time when you got out that you shouldn’t. Like the time you sphere a long straight in and draw your ball to the other end of the table for perfect position on the next ball.

Used to be the big smash break often left a 6 ball run with no guarantees or worse no beginning. Seemed to me the players were more likely to ruin a stack with the one 3 or 4 ball break. There's one with Alex P blowing an I recall, three ball out. I think math wise, less balls to start with makes for a potentially difficult out. Just a general observation.

I can empathize; however, I did just find out that I need shoulder replacement. My left shoulder has no rotator cuff movement. Any movement I have is from the shoulder blade. I'm scheduled for surgery on April 9th.

They did a total rebuild on my left shoulder in about 1974. It has started having significant arthritis and probably needs another rebuild after a major fall. So if you rush out and have this surgery it may go bad in fifty years or so!(grin) Sometimes I think about what archeologists will be digging up in a thousand years or so. "ACME left shoulder, complete". "Didn't we dig up an ACME pecker last week? Must be a generic term this civilization called itself.

Good luck with the surgery if we neglect to talk about it later!

Total left shoulder replacement 9 years ago (I play right handed) extended my pool playing days and has allowed me to play pool pain free, I’m now 68.

Figure on 3-4 months of a diligent exercise program until you can start back playing, unless it’s a right shoulder for a right handed player, then likely a bit sooner.
