I'll go out on a limb here and say the Saber T is not linen based. It has no linen weave and smells different when cutting. Not sure of the material....its probably a big Tiger secret. I'm guessing but I believe it is a material very similar to what the dental industry uses to make false teeth. When you are cutting the material you get that exact same familiar smell as when you are in the dentist chair & getting a bit of drilling done.
The material has absolutely no linen pattern and is actually much brighter white than linen based material. It "looks" like cheap plastic material so commonly found on imported cues....but its not. It machines totally different than plastic...much harder. It finishes & polishes very slick with no porousness for the chalk to sink into...very easy to wipe perfectly clean with just a finger. The best way to describe the material is that its very similar to old Micarta, except bright white & much more chalk resisitant. I recently sent a sample to Murray Tucker III to try out...I'm very interested to hear back his opinion. I have not seen any material like it used in the billiard industry before...looks like a winner to me. It can be purchased in ferrule or rod form, straight from Tiger. Thank you Tiger products.
