Watching streaming video on my computer is not as comfortable as watching it on TV so I connect a VGA cord from the computer to the TV but I was wondering how the more technically sophisticated folks did it.

I'd like to be able to connect from the PC to the TV with no wires if possible.

You folks care to share your ideas?

WTF are you talkiing about NO WIRES? Most "technically sophisitcated" people nowadays used HDMI or DVI. VGA is fine but has no HDCP support.

an HDMI cable would be the best option if you computer has a port. If not you could use svideo or a normal blue vga cable.

btw, there are options for wirelessly sending display to a tv, they just lack video quality and lag.

I have a VGA out on the computer and a VGA in on the TV. Oh, and I have the cable.

I don't have a HDMI or DVI out on the computer or the cables, so.........

Still looking for information on a wireless connection .

Most of what I've read are specific to Youtube, Netflix and like that but no provision for Ustream or what ever TAR uses for PPV.

I use one of these, watched TAR Hatch vs. Dechanie no problems. IT has wires and I went VGA out of computer to RCA on the TV.

Here's a wireless option. http://www.showmecables.com/product/Ultimate-Wireless-PC-TV-Converter.aspx?utm_source=google&utm_medium=merchant&utm_campaign=GWB-4000&gclid=COLuvJbTjbACFQKCnQodPSpmqA

You might also try a USB HDMI out to HDMI.

There are a lot of devices now that do wireless PC to TV .. they range in price depending on specs. I spent about 200 for an HD one ( that was a couple years ago, probably less now). I don't have cable so I stream/download. I guess its justifiable for me.

And yes the cable solution (hdmi, dvi etc) is the lower end in cost and work just as fine but yes there are wireless solutions

If you even need cables go to MONOPRICE.COM. They are very cheap and have good quality stuff.

If you have the cash and are adventurous enough to go for new tech, wireless HDMI is available. Google wireless HDMI.

Depending on what vehicle the streamers use to deliver content there is a wireless solution. I use Roku, a nifty little device to receive my wireless content from Netflix or Amazon or such. Roku has 100s of authorized channels (some subscription some free) you can stream content from, but they also give you the ability to connect to what they call "private channels", which are channels they don't vouch for the content of other than to say its not broadcasting copyrighted stuff. Ustream is a private channel with Roku and works like a charm.

I used to use my Wii to deliver streaming content to my TV. Roku is tiny and cheap (cost me $100 I think for the HD set up) and works way better with far more content available.

How do you get ustream on the Roku? I just clicked around and couldn't find it...

I watched the US Open on TAR via my playstation...My wireless laptop was lagging a bit...so I turned on the Playstation, got online...logged into TAR's website and watched the matches on my TV with no lag at all...That's one way to do it!

Kevin,
Any problems accessing the ustream channels on roku? How easy is it to navigate compare to URL links?

The only thing I used it for was the last POV pool, the thing from Hard Times 2 weeks ago? I went to Ustream, put POV in the search, clicked the link it gave me and there it was.

I mainly use the Roku for watching movies and TV from Netflix. I used to use my Wii and the Roku is far superior in every way.

I went out and box a roku box. I thought my Apple TV was small, but this is smaller and lighter. Its about the size of a 2 prong Q-Claw, but doesn't weight anywhere near as much, whereas my Apple TV is heavy could double as a Q-Claw.

This may be the cheapest way to get video streaming to a TV. If we can get TAR, Accu-Stats and all the other pool streams on this, then this will be perfect.

I would rep you, but I need to spread it around first. So, someone please rep Kevin on my behalf.

A lot of the video cards require an adapter.

Tell me the make and model of your video card and I'll tell you whether it supports HDMI or not...

Cool, thanks.

Apparently I'm too late to the "hidden channel" party to add YouTube. Oh well. At least I can do Ustream.

I had no idea the channels could "fill up" but I don't think I tried to add U Tube (too busy with the porn no doubt).

No sweat on the rep, I'll all maxed out anyway. Enjoy it and glad I could help.

Nifty device huh?, and user-friendly, I hate scratching my head over that kind of stuff.
