How does your cue hit??? If we get enough responses maybe this could be stickied!!
For all the players not fortunate to be able to try other cues for whatever reason. But would like to know how a cue hits before they spend money on something totally wrong for them. Please keep it generalized as I know the tip can make a change as well as other customization.

I will start with the few cues I know well.

McDermott G series with G core shafts 3/8 10 pin implex collar wood to wood. They are a soft muted feeling hit with a slight thud sound.

Schon cues with 5/16 14 pin in stainless with a Schon shaft. They have a very hard
solid hit. Very easy to feel through the hand. The sound is like clinking glasses.

Dufferin cues with 5/16 8 pins have a solid and slightly muted feel to them.

Predator Roadline with a Uni-loc pin and a 314-2 shaft. It to me has a medium hit with a medium feel through the hand. It has muted click sound.

Please add your thoughts on more cues. Jacoby,Joss, Mezz, Viking, Pechauer and all the others. Let's help other players that don't get a chance to try other cues.

Mine hits like a mean mother ...shut my mouth. Everyone hits well in it's own way.

I think this is too subjective to just describe a cue like that.
Some think McDermott hits solid others soft.
Same for Scon.

I recently hit with a Predator and coming from playing with Gilbert, Lambros and
Richard Black cues a lot in the last few years,
all with solid maple shafts, I just don't understand how the owner can be so happy with it.
But then again it's all subjective.
Was an expensive Predator so both the cue I had that night and his are about the same price.

My cue would hit better in Efren's hands with severe jet lag and a hangover
then it will ever hit in my hands.

My Bludworth (maple shaft) vs my McDermott (maple shaft)

Blud with wood to ivory joint...McD with wood to wood (stainless collar). Not much difference in the taper or tip hardness and both are 13mm.

The Blud has much more pronounced feedback, both have a nice muted thud sound, shaft on the Blud seems to have better action.

I use an OB2+ shaft tipped with an UltraSkin ProSoft. All-round soft, quiet hit.

Sometimes I'll run a rack with my break cue (Samarsa break tip) just for grins. Ping, ping...tons of feedback in my hand. Fun, but not something I'd do when the chips are down.

Good, I think

About all I use are my Diviney Lake Salvage 30" shafts with an extended 12.5 mm taper and a Radial Pin Joint.

I think they hit better then I can. My guns do too. I am consistently the weakest link!
