How is this a Joss?

Snapped a quick photo at home this morning of my NV cues. The one on the right was an old beater…my buddy had to replace the buttcap, and frankly I love the Delrin. Best $150 for a cue I ever paid.

I like the black one!! Got an old Joss looks very similar. Heck, all 3 look good. Thanks Matt!!

Oh, ok. I thought it had sold. It's not doing that well. Ending pretty soon.
I think it's doing fine for a "not Joss" version that shows some age and use. The Tyler cue with the engraved joint collar was a nice bargain.

I figure about $400 on this one. I guess in today's market that's pretty good. But the cue just isn't very nice. Points are nice, but those butt sleeve woods are poorly matched and make it look cheapish. A bit of finish wear, a few nicks and abrasions. Yeah, it does not present well.

A bit of curly in that shaft. That might clean up pretty.

Yep, agree. Times have changed. In the early Joss years, if you wanted to spend 300 to 350, you'd get a beautiful window design in the buttplate, a ring above the wrap with some kind of pattern and inlay, and some inlays in the points. Now, 300 to 400 doesn't really get you much. We're getting old.

We?

I have it on your authority that I am a young buck. Make up your mind! LOL!

Yeah, your right.

But honestly, Joss is hanging in there. I am not into their cues these days, but they have some good value priced cues that are made in their shop with the same methods and materials as their best cues.

Someone bid it up to 475 in the last 10 seconds. Plus 17 for shipping. Went a little higher than I though. Not bad. Good to watch.

Dan and Fam have been doing it right for a long time.👍🏻 I'm a customer and will be until I can't be.

Thanks. The cue we were talking about in the beginning is not a Joss.

Obviously Joss becomes the conversation.

I have Joss cues spanning the entire evolution. I cannot claim to be a current customer, mostly because I am interested in older cues as a collector. I have spoken to Dan over the years since some time in the middle of the 1980's. I have a great deal of respect for what Joss has done.

If you're a player, it's hard to ignore their impact on this game. I need to call and see what the deal is with some KW shafts!!
Btw... That original cue was an import, correct??

Yes, from Canada. You can read through the thread if you are interested. Several knowledgeable Joss fans.
