When we have big weekend tournaments, we see more players from further away than in our usual weekend events.
We got to talking about how many A players showed up at these events that were locals as opposed to the 'out of towners'
We counted about 30 A players in our area (50 mile radius). That would increase to about 50 if we extended the radius to 150 miles.
I think that is low for Northern California. But, I admit, I haven't seen all the A players and there is a huge difference between the top A players and the bottom A players.
When I lived in Cincinnati, I would venture a guess that there were many more A players in a 150 mile radius (maybe 100+), that includes, Dayton, Columbus, Indianapolis, Louisville and Lexington.
What are your guesses for the number of A players?
