Personally, trick shots never impressed me. If you set them up correctly, they work. Now, the modern stuff like Venom does, that goes beyond traditional trick shots into the realm of very skilled art, completely different in my opinion.

Years ago when Mike Massey used to stay at my house in Vegas we would often shoot trick shots together. That was amazing experience, we did that more times than I could count. Was always good fun, we also played lots of 3C too. Mike is always fun to play.

Years ago I perfected the famous Miller Light commercial Steve Mizerak 6 balls in one shot trick shot, but that was about the extent of my trick shooting interest.

Nowadays, when we have families with young kids in here, I’ll set up the 5 balls by the side pocket to be made in 1 shot in 3 different pockets trick shot, which even a young child can execute with a little help from me if needed. The awe and amazement reaction when they make it on their first attempt never gets old for me.

At least in my video there was 0 set up trick shots. All were skill shots that also can come up games and if one can shoot them it can be match saver on tricky situtation. More useful to learn for games than Venom stuff too.

Well, I saw "trick shots" and never watched the video, so yours don't fit into my generalization. Those shots are pretty cool. Hopefully, I will never have to shoot any of them, LOL. Do you have another video which shows the shots closer and explains the technique to make them?

Eric, since you mentioned Mike and 3C I'll throw my hat in the ring.

Around 93,94 a Retired CP officer John Holic opened up a room about 2 miles from Chris's Billiards.

For the 'Grand Opening' He brought in, Grady Mathews, Mike Massey and me.

Grady to demonstrate, One Pocket, 9 ball, Mike to present 'Pool Trick shots' and myself to demonstrate 3C Trick shots.

Grady and I had been close friends for many years, Mike and I had run into each other during the 70's on the road, but not really knowing one another.

It was on a Saturday, Gardy was up first at Noon to do His thing, very Professional as usual!

At 4pm I put on about an 1hr/15mins of 3 cushion 'Artistic' shots. In the Pro 3C Artistic World events the player needs to make the shot in 3 attempts. I usually stuck to that format, and that afternoon I was in pretty good stroke!

We all watched each other's demonstrations. After I finished my program Mike came over and was very interested in knowing, "How do you get so much effect on the CB with a lot of force?" I explained my techniques/theories to him, He was very appreciative!

Mike put on a Great show that evening, showcasing His 'Powerful stroke' and why He was force to deal with in that Genre!

Just thought I'd share our day together entertaining the customers!

I've been demonstrating 3C and 3C Artistic Billiards for over 55 years.

Here's a couple of samples from 1983, and a Live exhibition for over 300 Northwestern students and customers at Chris's Billiards.

BTW, I have Never used any forgiven substance on the balls or cloth for, videos or demonstrations.
