Poll: How many cues do you have? If you make cues or sell them, please don't include those. I'd like the number of cues you have that you use/collect for personal use/purposes. In doing some recent cue purchase research, looking through the for sales section, reading posts and sigs, it seems like a lot of you have numerous cues....not just for breaking and different functions, but just because....almost like an addiction :D

Thanks for your responses....

Hate to admit but a Meucci, it was a reject with no name, bought it to keep in my vehicle as a beater, and I mean a beater. Makes one hell of a club. Never tell that to the police. Always say it is a cue stick and it is legal. If you say club it is a weapon. Did you ever think why they call that thing you put on your steering wheel a Club and advertise it as your first line of defense? Then they added that extra handle and called it new and improved. It is a club!

At first I was looking for that magic feather. No such thing. I say to myself no more cues, but I still keep looking. Just a habit/addiction. I guess it is the same as looking at women, can never get enough. My wife buys jewelry and I do cues. She is satisfied as long as she stays ahead.

I finally found that magic feather; it is called a stroke. For years everyone I played against told me I had a good stroke. Wrong! How can the blind lead the blind. I finally took some lessons from a BCA trained instructor (recognized). Found out how bad my stroke was. Now I have the right mechanics and can use any cue. Granted a cue will make some difference but it is all in the stroke. Trust me.

Best way to do it IMO......

1 really good shooter
1 good breaking cue
1 jumper (or combine jump and break)
1 sneaky pete (for when out on "business trips")

Why would you need any more, unless you were a dealer/collector?

15 altogether with 3 main shooting cues ! I bought a couple of them for their beauty notably 2 Samsaras accumulated the rest over the years many won in tournys

Speaking personally... because of periodic upgrades in playing cues... and not wanting to sell the predecesors.

For example, my first cue was a mid-60s era Viking, which I still have. My second was a mid-range McDermott in the early 90s, which I still have... and so on.

Purdman's Cues

3 Bludworths, 1 Kikel, 2 Edwin Reyes, 1 Sledgehammer, 1 Meucci, 1 Richard Black, 1 Tim Scruggs, 1 McDermott, 2 Adams, 1 Espiritu, 1 Mike Webb, 1 Jim Buss, 1 Andy Gilbert and 1 Tucker on the way. Oh, 1 Keith Kustom Kue
Purdman:cool:

Almost like an addiciton? No, actually it's almost like a disease.

You should have had categories for 10 to 50, 50 to 100, and 100+. You would have had votes in all three of these too.

WOW!!! Now I feel inadequate. I have:
McDermott Hustler with 4 shafts. I love it.
Cuetec Jump Cue

10 for me, this includes Jump cues.
1969 Palmer Model "A" 2 shafts
1986 Wayne Gunn Sneaky Pete
cut down old Sneaky pete I made into a Jump cue
1978 Adams Jim Rempe JR-3 2 shafts
1974 Championship Cue
1996 Custom Cocobolo 2 shafts
Sterling B/J 2 shafts
Cuetec 99296 B/J 2 shafts
Stealth AT-1 Jump Cue
Halex Titanium (Car Cue) wal mart special:D

The Cocobolo and the Cuetec are my main players.

But I play with all, I like to rotate them out, just recently I started shooting with the 1974 Championship Cue again, it had been in the back of the closet since 1992 the last time I shot with it. Still straight as an arrow and plays good.:)

2 Jacobys
1 Bob Frey
1 Leon Sly
1 X-Breaker
1 Hoppe Titlist unconverted

I have a McDermott LE and a Jim Sickles on the way. The sickles will be my first custom cue and the McDermott is my shooter now. I've had a Meucci, Mali and a few Schons before. One stolen and the others sold for various reasons. The addiction has only grown since I've been coming to AZ. Seeing all these beautiful cues on here makes me want to buy more. :D

Seriously, 100+ ??? Where would you keep them?

Looking at the prices on cues, I might not belong to the right income bracket to be on this board :D

Interesting results so far, I figured the majority would be at 2 or 3 cues....

In the case:
Jacoby Playing Cue - 314 & Original Shaft
Pechauer Sneaky used for breaking ('cause I have it, not because it works particularly well)
Unknown jump cue (that I like better than any I've tried...not that many though.)

Somewhere:
Viper (1st Cue)
Plane Jane Viking (2nd Cue after the Viper got a wobble after 6 months)
Predator sneaky (Bought from my old roommate for the shaft. Shaft is still on it w/ a new ferrule after the old one melted off while having a tip replaced. The repair guy bought me a new shaft, which is now on the Jacoby.)

Broken:
Pechauer w/ Ebony & Ivory insets. Still miss her...
Funny story about that. I bought it w/ an Instroke case from Seyberts.com. Case fell apart (recycled leather). Sent it back and got a real leather case. The day the new case came, I broke the cue. Guess they wanted to be together in pool heaven. Won't get into why or how I broke the cue.;-)
