How many good pool players are their in your home pool hall? Name some?

There are alot of good players where I play out of but the one that comes to mind is Ryan L. He is very much a natural talent. He is ranked a 9 in nine ball and a 7 in eight but I have never seen another league player shoot like him. He is rarely seen practicing.. it seems to be pure natural talent..... I described it earlier today to someone as pool poetry. He could very well go pro if he wanted to with very little issues, he says he just wants to play for fun. I watch him play every chance I get.

That is a good list of players at Red Shoes. Don't forget Sweet Angel. Where I play there are a few good players. It is said they are a little weak in the heart.

Ahhhh, the "Knock their action" thread...

I'll just post me and Louis Ulrich, since I don't get into action enough to care about it and everyone should know about Louis by now. I won't knock any of the other 10 or so high level players in my pool room.

Hey Jaden,
You are not knocking anyone's action. It is hard to sand bag playing pool these days. Now you tell me how you are knocking anyone's action and how this is a action knocking thread. I never even thought of anything like that!!! I do not care how a person plays, if I want to play them I will. It is as simple as that! Thanks for your post.

We don't have any good players here in Oklahoma. Everyone should consider a road trip. You could probably make a year's wages in a two week trip through Oklahoma. Chesters in OKC, JJ in Midwest City, Magoos in Tulsa, and a few other pool rooms in small towns like Enid, Muskogee, Lawton.

No, it's not. It's all relative just like Scott said. I'm like the house pro in the local 8-ball league that I play in, but I'm a mediocre player at best compared to a world class pool player.

Hello Scott,
Good is just that, good! Wherever it is. And I asked about your home pool hall, not just any pool hall! Johnny Archer is good in his pool hall and any other pool hall as well!!! Your home pool hall is only in one place and one pool hall! Or so I thought it was. Thanks for your input.

Incognito,
Eight ball and League play! That is the only way and time I see 8 ball being played is when league players are playing or new comers are learning to play pool. I played some 8 ball last pocket on the road many years ago. Thanks for your input.

I used to have a thing against 8-ball too but have come to believe it’s a great game. It’s a hybrid of 9-ball, which emphasizes shotmaking, and straight pool, which emphasizes patterns. And you have to maneuver around all that traffic. It may be the only game where a low-ranked player has a chance against a high-ranked player. I’ve seen high-ranked players, BCA A or A+, shoot (themselves in the foot) by committing 8-ball’s cardinal sin – making 6 or 7 balls and not getting out. Somebody of moderate skill can get out when they’re left with an open table.
