How many times have you been asked? Can you make me a cue with a wolf painted on it.

One of my card must have made it to APA or league night. I told him no. Also can you put that Fiberglas on the shaft? Sorry no!!!!!!!!!
I thought it was funny.

I don't know about a wolf, but I got asked to make a cue with a real marble handle the other nite. I politely declined.

I hear a lot of air brushing and wood burning. I just tell them it isn't my style and direction.

most, not all the people I've had ask for these kind of cues are baseing price off of chinese cue's they've seen sell for $60-100. When I tell them my base price for a cue, it usualy ends the conversation there. Although there is the 4-5 over the years that would have pulled the trigger but I quickly explained to them if there going to spend $500+ for a cue, they could do better than decal's and air brushing. Although I do have an order for a cue with a Tigger decal on the buttsleeve. OH, God, NO.

wolf > twice
but the one that takes the cake was a guy that had a dead scorpion to inlay into cue

i dont do inlays, other than the coin thing,
and i damn sure wasnt gonna start with a dead critter :yikes:

First of all, Im ready for the " I told you so" and I certainly knew better but.. I was asked to cut apart and "re-core"/ re-make an Import cue. It was some beautiful amboyna burl. I have never run into such a mess in all my days !! I dont want to say what country as there are some very good makers there. I got it back together and despite there only being 30 thousands "over size" before I took a clean up pass, its straight as an arrow, but would I do that again...HELL NO, lol.

Lesson learned. A conversion is one thing but this was a total makeover.

I have a guy that wants me to build him a cue with bugs inlayed into it so it looks like they are eating the cue from the inside out. I have found the perfect bugs for it. He just hasen't pulled the trigger yet. If you see me post a "My first inlay" thread in the cue gallery. Don't open it during lunch!!!!!!!

I inlaid a Mason's pin in a cue for a customer - came out pretty well - but it was gold, not organic.

You don't have to say what country openly, however, by your comments above it is obvious!!
