How Many Women going to play in the US Open?

From the last list of players Barry put up it doesn't look like many women will be playing? I thought more would give it a shot as the WPBA and the US Open are the same entry fee. I was hoping for most of the top 12 women playing at least. Last time I speak up for women's rights.:frown:. Johnnyt
 
I heard some women are upset because Barry isnt paying the entry for the ladies who won the US Open when it wasnt under Barry's auspices.

Im with Barry on this one. I think it's a bit too much to ask to expect him to pay for the entries for the open winners under the WPBA. He is paying enough entries already.

How could anyone expect Barry to pay the entry fees for players who have never played in one of his events? This doesn't make any sense to be upset about that. Barry's giving the female players a chance to win one of the top tournaments in pool.

I agree. Too many free entries as it is. I think win it and get free entry for 5 years would be nice enough. But it's Barry's money in the end. Too much gimmie,gimmie, me, me in this sport/game. Johnnyt

Im with you but i did speak to one lady who was upset. She told me there were more but it might just have been her crowd. I guess some players dont really analyze this type of thing well-they just see it from their perspective.
 
182 players right now! Some people are going to come late and get shut out! I'm 99% sure the field will fill this year. And we will definitely shut the field off at 256!

P.S. I see quite a few women on the list!

Wow-Barry is paying $12,000.00 so far in free entries for past champs with potentially a few grand more.
 
Hard to believe Liz Ford and Karen aren't playing (so far). They usually play in everything they can.

Yes it is nice to see Ewa stepping up. Lori Lee is confirmed too. Good for Gerda. She thinks for herself. Doesn't run with the pack like some others. Johnnyt

I dont think so. Maybe things changed but from what i heard recently, Barry is only paying for the Women who won the US Open when it was his tournament-which would have been prior to Allison's arrival in the States.
