Are those rings decals? I bought one from him too (http://www.ebay.com/itm/ROSEWOOD-Bu...5391?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27ba68809) with two shafts that was advertised as a "southwest joint cue" It wasn't too bad of a hit either and pretty good quality. Much better than I expected. I sent it to my wife's cousin in Australia as a gift after smoothing the shafts and he and his filipino buddies thinks he has a southwest. It would have been cheaper to buy another one and have him ship it to australia directly from China but then they would know the truth. All I told him is I was sending a cue for him.

They are inlaid. The one you got is the same as mine only with rosewood. I'm gonna buy a second one so I'll have two shafts. LOL, I really like how it feels. Crazy huh?

Have you seen their "Y Core Shaft"? I wonder what it's like.

I have heard from several sources that these cues can shoot nicely or be easily made to shoot nicely. Some of the ones with inlays look like the inlays are crooked.

Maybe you can just contact them about a shaft? Or....IMHO buy a cue with two shafts...keep one...and sell the cue with one shaft to recover some (or all) of the cost.

Just some thoughts....

I don't think it's crazy at all. I hate a linen wrap but all things considered it hit real nice. I reduced the shafts about .2mm and it was pretty nice. Do what doc said, buy another one with two shafts. Contact the seller outside of E-bay and he will dicker big time. I bought another cue from him that looked good with a quick release and leather wrap for way cheap and it was a real turd. No comparison in quality and defiantly made by someone else. Not sure the seller knows or cares about any of this. The butt rolls out about 1/8 of an inch.

For some the magic is in front of the cue tip, for others the magic is behind the cue tip.

For me the magic is inbetween the front and back of the cue tip, somewhere around layer 5
depending on if it's a 9, 10, or 11 layer tip.

They do seem to be selling several different maker's cues.

It seems the simpler ones are better in general. The fancier ones seem to trade off quality for bling. At least that's how it looks in the pictures. I have never touched one so I have nothing first hand to contribute.

Thanks for that info, I'll try to contact the seller off line. On line, if you look close, the ones offered with 2 shafts have a different inlay.

The rosewood model also seems to have a flat finish on the 2 shaft deals.

A person that worked at the pool hall bought a set. He bought a Y Core shaft after. The cue played nicely and the 3 piece break/jump was really decent. The 2x2 case was also well made. I did take a few shots with the
player but didn't play with it long enuff to really test it. Sean could play a mean game with it but he also could play well with a ratty house cue too.

I used the breaker quite a bit, (G 10 tip) and it did its job well.

For a little over $100 you can have yourself a league night, trunk cue set that won't break the bank.

Free shipping too.

From what my friend said, Wengzhende is always willing to deal away from EBay.

PS - He liked the Y Core shaft.

Thanks for the info. I have been curious about those shafts and this has been the first thing I have heard about them.

Yes, they have a couple models with a matte finish. And some of the cues look very different in design and construction. Some of the cues seem to be decal cues but they are very clear when a cue has genuine inlays.

I do believe the cue you bought is offered with two shafts as well though, or at least was.

The only one I can find is this one
and it has what looks like ebony inlays rather than the zebrawood and maple like the one I got. The good news is with the extra butt I'll plug the thread hole and retap it to 5/16x18 and use the 15 or so meucci shafts I have, all still for under 60 bucks. :D

Wengzhende threw in the 3 piece jump break cue with the really crappy cue I bought from him and it was indeed way nicer quality than I expected. I gave it to a kid here in town and he was stoked to have it. The cue I bought is so funky I would be embarrassed to give it to anyone. I agree the plainer ones are much higher quality. IMO all the quick release one's look inferior to the straight pin models.
