How Much Is this 1970's Palmer worth?

When I said take the money I was being facetious.

Personally, I think the cue is worth more than $250 anyway.

Sometimes, a bit of facetious is a good thing. I had the same reaction as you.

If a 1,500 offer was ever made, then I'm Willie Mosconi. This was pretty much phishing from the start, and it happens all the time.

All the best,
WW

Carom shafts were actually available for these. If you find one with an original pool shaft and an original carom shaft you have a rare bird indeed.

Also, they originally came with two shafts.

I have one of this exact model with two original shafts in gold pearl instead of red.

.

Did Ricco Cervantes build these cues?

Its not my cue...

Its not my cue a stranger came into Scratch Billiards with the cue and the story. He didn't want to sell it, just wanted to know what its worth. So I thought I would ask you guys.
Thanks for the input.

Its not mine...

I read on here one time that guys who are selling / buying should be upfront and honest.. he should have told the guy.. you're offering to much just give me $ 250.00 and we are good....

JV (---notices that its only very select times when this rule applies...

I'll tell him to take it to Hard Times this Sunday and ask around. I don't want the damn thing. LOL

You went to all this trouble for a stranger ? (You didn't know him?) who didn't want to sell it, just wanted to know what it's worth...

And you advertised the thread as a Palmer, with an offer of $1500, and surely worth more like $2,000. If he just wanted to know what it's worth, where did that offer come from? It sounds like he or you would have taken the $1500 faster than a waitress after a five dollar tip.

Sure... Try to be a bit more careful on these matters...

All the best,
WW

I was offer $1,500, but it must be worth more... Very Clean. A- Cue. With 2 original shafts and case.

It sure reads like this was your cue, weird story.

I kinda like the looks of some of those old Gandy cues.

I was offered $100,000 for this old Corvette but I turned it down. Must be worth more.

Good thing you turned it down. It's a Palmer built on a Szamboti chassis. I'll write the letter.

Would the same apply to a Gus Szamboti or Balabushka? What about the guy that goes to a yard sale and buys a black boar for $25.00 knowing its true value while he walks away quickly to his car? Not picking on you Joe but the line in the sand is not always so clearly defined..

I'm convinced there are more Palmers in existence today than when the shop closed in 1994.

I recall being shown a "tribute" cue to the model M from 2nd catalog. Since I have a real one, it was easy to spot it for the fake it was, but I could see how some could be fooled into thinking it was the real deal.

it may read like it but it Aint!

Sorry Stan,
But its not my Cue, I only play with Schon cues and I have a new Mezz Pro Shaft, and a Jacoby Hybrid Shaft and some Schon Micarta's. I use Dennis searing Precision Tips and Taom Chalk. But back to my weird story. as a matter of fact I have not even seen this cue, except for that picture I put up. One of the workers at Scratch Billiards, whose name is Chance told me some guy came in with that story, chance emailed me the photo and I thought to put it up on AZbilliards and try and find out for my friend (Chance the worker at Scratch Billiards in La Mirada) as a favor. I so sorry I did not explain the whole story in my original post,
next time I will be much more precise about my reasoning for wanting to know the price of some odd cue for a friend.
Yours Truly,
