Like the title says, how often do you scuff, pick or shape your tip?

I grind my Triangle tip back into shape with a Willards tool before I put it together out of my case. If I'm playing for a long time, I might do it again every couple hours. I like having fresh surface that holds chalk well, and replacing a Triangle tip at home costs me something like a nickel, so premature wear isn't on my list of concerns.

When i need to. I like my soft tip to play like a true soft tip, so I change tip every 3 months or so.

I use a Kamuii a gator grip lightly before any important match-up. Or every 6 hrs of play. I've "heard" that Tip-Pik's will cause a laminated tip to delaminate because they actually pierce through the layers... /shrug

I will use the tip pik now and then, especially on a new tip, but nothing else really. Theres no need unless the tip is so cheap it has a bad out of the box shape.

Only when the tip does not seem to hold chalk as well as it should. I would say every 2 or 3 months.

I use an UltraSkin Soft and a Kamui Gator Grip. I probably use the Gator on the tip once every 10-12 hours of play, although it's because I "think" I should...not because the tip isn't holding chalk. Call it insurance.

About the same on my break cue (Samarsa break tip) but only because I've got the Gator Grip out for my player.

I used to scuff with a pretty abrasive tool that was really a scuffer/shaper. But after using the Gator Grip I realized it wasn't necessary to hit the tip so hard.

never. i keep a williard on my key chain for when i am playing with a house cue that need's some attention. otherwise i keep my cue in tip-top shape and if something catastrophic happens to the tip or ferrulle; then i put her up, the cue of course, until i can provide the necessary attention the problem requires.

never use a williard, tip tapper, or any other tip enhancer/fixer on a cue you care about.

I use the Gator grip very lightly on my shooting cue and break cue just prior to starting play. I have a bunch of the other tools (Willards, tip pik, and etc) but only use them when someone asks if I have one.

Never I own scuffers so I can shape when I install a new tip. But after that I just play with it no scuff no pick just chalk.

I'll use a Willard tip shaper when my tip is obviously getting flat or lopsided and to occasionally de-glaze. I do so much less now than I used to. What once was a weekly task, I now do only every 6-8 weeks so about every 120-160 hours of play.
