Hiya Guys and Gals,

Since I spend most of my time in the "Wanted/For Sale" thread, I see a TON of cues changing hands....some of which rotate through forum members faster than you can blink!

Figured I'd come over to the "calmer" side and post a question:

How long have you had your current playing cue?

followup question would be:

What is the longest amount of time you've gone using the same playing cue?

I would expect there would be a great range of answers here...so I guess I'm just trying to get a feel for what the "average" timeframe is.

Post away, folks......

current: 10-11 months
longest: 10-11 years (my first cue)
average: around 1 year.

I've had my current cue, a pretty basic, six-point Schon, since about 1999. I'll never get rid of it. I've gone through a few shafts, though.

Been playing with a sneaky pete my buddy Mark made for me a while back and Haven't looked back since. It plays pretty good and I told myself I can't sell it because it was a gift. So I'm stuck with it....:D Been about 4 months now I've had it. Before than I would always rotate cues from night to night. Oh well, This one I'll be playing with for years to come.

On January 20th my Szamboti will turn 10 years old. But I only use it now for tournaments and practice. I've been using my Ted Harris SP for my bar league for about 6 years.

I played for almost 30 years with an old 20 oz Viking. I used it for both pool and billiards. Left it in the car many times, both in NY and FL. It was still straight as an arrow when I sold it. When I was 60 I went out and bought a Schon which didn't bring my game back. Then I boulght a high end Viking. No better. I finally figured out it was just me. Eyes were going, legs, nerves, and an assortment of other health problems. Not being able to play pool well anymore has got to be worst part of growing old for me. Thank god for the Blue Pill. About 3 years. Averaging about 3 years per cue. Have an itch to get a new one but talked myself out of it.

I've used my current cue about 5 years, a 314 shafted Blackheart. Prior to that I used a Meucci for about 5 years and before that an Adams for 25 years.

Longest I've played with one cue was probably about 3 years with a older schon. May have been the time that I played the best.

My current playing cue I've had about 5 months. Its a older joss that I like alot.
I typically always have a joss to play with, and most often I'm playing with a shaft I've owned for about 5 years. With my current player I've been using the 20 year old shafts, which hit great.

I like to try out cue's. I'm never going to be a pro player, and anymore I gamble at cards and just play some 10-50 player tournaments. While I like to get better, I like trying out cue's just as much.

13 years.

4 years.

Bill Schick delivered my cue to me in September of 1990, and I still use it, so I guess that would make it 16 years! ( Duh, I'm just SO good in math! LOL!)

My Lucasi is about a year old, and my J&J is about two.

I use all three cues, depending on the game at hand, and playing condition of the table. ;)

I own other cues that I've had for many more years, but I don't shoot with them anymore. :(

2 cues...

...over the last 6 years, I have only "played" with 2 cues. That may sound strange as I am certain I have had well over 1000 go through my hands, but the very early Predator SPJ which Joe Callaluca customized for me and my Southwest are the only 2 cues I have played with. I have knocked balls around with a ton of cues, but those 2 are most comfortable to me.

my Willie Mosconi pre-production (modern) Balabushka about 3 years .my custom Hightower that is pictured in my avatar about 2 years.Merry Christmas

My JOSSWEST since 1984/85 is the oldest.

Played with that cue for at least 12 years. I put the JW away and have been using a Meucci for the last 9 years.
