Can you describe and demonstrate what the top players who use CTE do?Me neither. I’m just describing and demonstrating what top players do so DAM well.

Aiming while upright is BIG. I see soooo many mid/low level players who do no aiming til they're almost down on the shot. When i show them how to do it they usually get it pretty quik.Me neither. I’m just describing and demonstrating what top players do so DAM well.
It should be in the aiming forum. But it's just like politics. Some can say and do as they want, others get censored, banned, and treated like scum. It's the party affiliation and who is in charge. The left or right is OK. Just don't be the center or edge.
Freedom of speech doesn't apply to one and all in this village. Hell, I fully expect to be jumped on just for this post.
Who's first?
Then do it yourself. Transfer it to over there and eliminate it here. But I don't think it was ever your intention which is why it's here. You could prove me wrong but I don't think so.DAM, I hate it when you are right.
This probably does deserve to be banished to the dreaded “aiming system” sub-par forum.![]()
I’ve been working on the ‘quiet eye’ technique. I use it in putting and find it clears my head mentally and visually. Adaptin to pool is a different matter.Me neither. I’m just describing and demonstrating what top players do so DAM well.
You said pretty much the same from 1:30 to 1:40. Then you turned right around and contradicted yourself by talking about ghost ball, contact points, and every other method or visual keys between CB and OB. They're all part of a SYSTEM.That's one main point of the video. They don't use a "system."
I’m a fairly serious golfer and appreciate John’s attempt at the analogy, but golfers don’t need to estimate collision angles off the nearest tree or rock. Until they get on the green and have to deal with slope estimation, every shot they have is “straight” - like hitting a pool ball directly into a pocket, which pool newbies learn to do easily. (Of course they factor in draws and fades - but still nothing like nailing a tough cut angle.)John Schmidt used to say something similar and used a golf analogy. (Paraphrasing here) He said he could teach you to aim directly at the pin from the fairway, but your execution is going to determine where the ball goes.
So yeah, maybe you should move it there. I don't know shit about cte but fair is fair.DAM, I hate it when you are right.

If they're seeing angles, ghost balls, contact points, CCB to XYZ, edge of CB to spot on OB, etc., IT IS AN AIMING SYSTEM OR METHOD of VISUALIZING the shot. That's one main point of the video. They don't use a "system."
I do agree to a certain degree. The 2 toughest 'Single person' games are the Most difficult, Golf and Cue games because they have the one thing in common. Does anyone know why or what that is? I'll answer my own question. "It's the only single person games where the player has an, stationary ball and has to propel it with a stick."I’m a fairly serious golfer and appreciate John’s attempt at the analogy, but golfers don’t need to estimate collision angles off the nearest tree or rock. Until they get on the green and have to deal with slope estimation, every shot they have is “straight” - like hitting a pool ball directly into a pocket, which pool newbies learn to do easily. That said, executing a straight golf shot is far, far tougher than executing a straight pool shot. Imagine playing pool from the side with a putter and having to control your clubface angle.

I knew it wouldn't be long before a post like this was made. Go ahead, pour it on.Spidey,
You sound a little bum hurt. The thread is about Doc D's video contribution. Not CTE or Scientology.
Thank you for all of the content Doc.FYI, I just posted a new video that discusses and demonstrates what pros do to aim so effectively. The focus is on DAM (Dave’s Aiming Method), which summarizes all the most important elements of accurate and consistent aiming. Check it out:
Contents:
0:00 - Intro
1:18 - Aim While Standing
---- 2:08 - aim visualization
4:01 - Vision Center Alignment
4:32 - Focused and Straight Drop
5:23 - Tip and Cue Alignment Check
6:43 - Focus Lock and Execution
7:30 - HAMB
7:58 - Wrap Up
As always, I look forward to your feedback, comments, questions, complaints, and requests.
Enjoy!
Nothing to pour. The thread is not about CTE.I knew it wouldn't be long before a post like this was made. Go ahead, pour it on.
Who said it was? But it IS about aiming and the video illustrates how CB CENTER and CB EDGE are used to AIM or ALIGN just like any other method and there isn't a DAM thing you or Dr. Dave can say about it.Nothing to pour. The thread is not about CTE.
Doesn't it belong in the aiming forum? If not, why not? Why the free pass?Thank you for all of the content Doc.

WOW. Sorry. Still bum hurt. Carry on.Who said it was? But it IS about aiming and the video illustrates how CB CENTER and CB EDGE are used to AIM or ALIGN just like any other method and there isn't a DAM thing you or Dr. Dave can say about it.
When did you become a moderator?
Nick, is that the Canadian version of 'The Red Ass?'WOW. Sorry. Still bum hurt. Carry on.
