I belive you can draw out to the center of the table from there ,not an easy shot on the 2 most likely but you will certainly have an angle to get on the 3,thats if you have to shoot,if not then im locking the guy up on the 4 ball.
Bob Jewett said:Not mentioned yet, I think, is the plain follow shot. You have to play it with enough follow to keep following after it hits the 8 and/or 4. Straight pool players know this stroke for break shots. A little hop will probably help.
Neil said:Let's see...hmmm....where could this type of shot be used??? Gee, Russ. Didn't you use the same shot in post 9 of "The best shot you ever made"? Playing 8-ball for $60 a rack??![]()
Me:
No offense to Neil, I would have enjoyed seeing that shot. It's just not one I'd consider useful enough to learn.
BRKNRUN:
I find it kind of "shockingly" strange that you would take that stance...I know you have some knowledge of this game under your belt...That is why I find it strange that you would quickly dismiss this shot as little more than a gaff shot of sorts.
What about the jump shot, or the rail assisted jump shot?
... they are nice to know when they are needed.
Perhaps not this specific rack, but there are other examples of a ball assisted jump shot where it would be the proper play.
Sure the thread said How would you get out here...but I think if you read between the lines...(I can tell from your other posts you are smart enought to do this) I think you would see the intent of the origonal post...

Southpaw said:Ring game???? Who said anything about a ring game???? I guess you're just trying to justify shooting a stupid shot.

Roy Steffensen said:The thread clearly says: "How to get out from here"
It doesn't ask for how to best win the rack. It ask for creative shots.
I would also play a safety in a match, but when asked hot to get out from that position, I would try to contribute by giving a route for exactly that... If you can't do that, well, then find another thread to post in...
(I said I would normally play a safety in a match, but on second thoughts, maybe I would do a "sucker-shot" when playing you, so you wanted to raise the bet)![]()
