How to improve the sport

There is an easy solution

OK, so people shouldn't be anonymous even if it is an open tournament and everyone can play. The solution is simple and available right now. Every entrant must consent to being micro-chipped. Then all pool rooms and venues putting on events will have to have a chip reader and an internet connection.

With this simple change, you will have the player's name, address, phone number, date of birth, medical history, legal history, and the names, ages, and addresses of his immediate family. No reason not to have his full financial records too. It would be easy to store some video of past performances so you can see the player in action also.

Who all wants to be chipped? Step right up you shouldn't mind having your life and your family's life laid on the table if you have nothing to hide. As for me, I have been signing into events for over thirty-five years using just Hu, I don't plan to change!

I also think those energy drinks are perfect.

An energy drink company was the title sponsor at the just completed Virginia State 9-Ball tournament, held last weekend in Richmond, VA. Apparently they liked what they saw, and plan to continue to sponsor this tournament. Perhaps it bodes well for the future!

Mortal Kombat

Make pool more like the video game mortal combat .With
blood and finishing moves .Like Efren vs Earl and the winner
rips the other ones spine outta his body or something like that:D
This would make pool more marketable to the masses .
Just joking , just the crazy thoughts of a arcade(mall rat)
from the 80's with a love for pool .LOL I would die if at the
end of a leauge match I hear a loud voice saying "FINISH HIM"

If I'm a hustler and I've had my photo ID taken and posted after winning a big tournament... this is all I have to do:

I walk into some random pool hall in assbasket, wyoming and start looking for suckers and I use an alias. What are they going to do, get online (if that's even an option at this pool hall) and fish through 8491839123192381923 photos and hope they can recognize me (and that's if I don't choose to dye my hair or something)?

It's not workable even if you ignore the tremendous hassle. Anyway it's too big brother for me.

Agreed about some small room. But the benefits to small tournaments with Calcuttas is there. In addition, if some new guy is looking for serious action a registry would be useful. In addition, those who choose to register are making a statement about their commitment to the sport. Sure, even some of these people would hustle. None-the-less it would begin to clean up the sport -- not the game of pocket billiards.
