How to make GC drop pockets quieter

Hello, I'm trying to make my GC4 drop pocket table play quieter. I've identified the following significant sources of noise:

1. CB to OB collision on playing surface
2. OB collision to back of pocket on hard shots
3. OB swirling around on back and sides of pockets on hard shots
4. OB collision to bottom of empty pocket
5. OB collision to other OB's already in the pocket

I don't believe there is anything that can be done about #1 and #5.

So far, I've stuffed each pocket with two socks, tried some 1/2" thick floor material (the type from a gym that interlocks and is foam), bath towels, neoprene rubber of 1/16" and 1/8" thickness, and just tonight I picked up some carpet samples from HD, that are about 4" square (free), and held them in the pocket while hitting the ball in. I didn't permanently attach any of these, just held or laid in place to test them. That might make a difference, I don't know yet.

I've only seen improvement in #3 and #4 with the methods tried so far. Does anyone have any methods they have used with success, and which of the noises was it successful for?

Thank you.

I had a chance to play on a pretty nice GC2 last week.

It was in a perfectly quiet, small room.

I enjoyed listening to an OB go into an empty pocket, make noise going around, get quiet, then rattle/settle into the drain hole in the bottom of the pocket.

But I was not trying to not disturb my wife/kids in the next room.;)

Try stuffing one of those socks into the mouth of whoever it is that is objecting to the beautiful sounds of pool and making you neurotic.

I have a GC4 and it is not particularly noisy, no more so than what's typical anyway. Perhaps the acoustics of the room have something to do with it?

Really?? The sound of hitting the OB with the CB is too much for you?
The sound of the ball going into the pocket?

What EXACTLY is the problem? Does the noise distract you, or is it actually
loud enough to be disturbing?

FWIW - if you knew how to concentrate well, you wouldn't hear any of the
noises you describe.
