how would the best bank players play the ghost new game?

I also said I can't do it consistently, but I can (and have) done it...

Anyhow, do any of you practice banks as rigorously as I do?

Side note: For any of you who actually care, which I kinda doubt anybody does, my natural personality type is that of an INTJ and I take immense pride in my knowledge of things, and will almost never say something unless I'm confident in talking about whatever I said, or doing whatever I said. So, if I didn't believe I couldn't do it, or if I hadn't done it before then I wouldn't have said anything in the first place....

You sound like a world beater. You ever play at DCC? If you beat the ghost playing full rack you'd snap that tourney off! Please do post your vids when you get to the pool room.

I'll post them up.

If I can't run the balls then I'll admit it, say I was wrong, then keep working at it until I can.

But the truth is, is I have actually beat the ghost playing a full rack and I chalk it up to me almost always practicing bank shots instead of more important things in pool... so, I kinda sacrifice learning to match-play more effectively to practice banks...

You may be confused about what you said, here are your words:
but I can almost guarantee I'd run 8-15 balls within 3-4 innings. I LOVE BANK SHOTS

I love Kate Upton more than you love banks shots, but that doesn't mean she's going to meet me for a several hours, or even seconds, of sex tonight.

So by your words, at the absolute worst, you'd average 11 balls every four innings which is just shy of 3 balls per inning. That's ball in hand after the break only, every miss is an inning. At best, you'd average 15 balls every 3 innings.

So get your video going, do 10 racks, 4 innings for each rack and by your own words, you should be able to bank 110 balls in on your 9' triple shimmed Diamond.

I suspect you would struggle to run 10 balls in a row twice on that table, in 10 racks, just shooting regular shots, forget the banking. Perhaps you can make another video of that while you're at it.

Sounds like fun to me! =) I'm definitely game.

and if I can't do it then I'll keep working at it until I can ;)

Challenge accepted!

I agree with this line or something close to it. Lots of balls in the way in full rack so anything more would be very difficult.

With ball in hand the balls are going to lay "right" in the middle of the table to where they have an opportunity to run a lot of balls at times.

thats where i had the line at 4.5ish and no bih at 3... 9 ball banks in this game would open the table a lot...i know im gonna fade a couple cross sides right off the break

Why? Bank shots aren't that hard in reality. Like it toys with my head a bit.

I mean, I practice them all the time and will for hours rack a full set of balls and bank every shot in (and it usually takes 3-4 innings).

Ohh welll.... to the pool hall with a camera and tripod I guess...
Just a couple off questions.
1: iff u have a 'tripple shim' diamond, why are u going to the pool room to video this proposition?
2: are you going to play the ghost ( run 8 banks at least 50+ % of the time ) like a race to 7 games?
3: do u gamble?
ps
I do (gamble) and I want the ghost

Some may recall Dennis Orcullo playing the 10-ball ghost (no 10-balls allowed by combo, carom, or on the break) this past January at Derby City with somebody "staking" the ghost.

Next year at the Derby, I'd love to see Brumback and/or Skyler try the ghost at banks using the game we've invented in this thread.

yep that was me...fastest 7500 i ever lost

Did you get this done yet? You've probably got in 250 attempts by now.

Nope, haven't got this done yet.

The money I have has to be spent sending some stuff off for college so I gotta push this back about a week til I get paid again. (Sucks being a college kid without a job, and no pool table at home).

Also, when I do record this I'll only be at the poolhall about an hour so there won't be time for 250 attempts - it'll be an hour of bank shots.

Where are you from in illinois? I would love to see this in person. I will back the ghost and let you take one shot on a ball to get shape thats not a bank per rack. 6 balls banked.

You got that game from me, when I was down in Evansville and it trickled down to you.

I've been giving that game up for 10 years.

Anybody in the world can come and play some of it.

The rules are short rack, you break and get BIH, you bank a ball and it goes in, you pick up the cue ball and get BIH again. You miss, you lose that game.

So, in a short rack, you'd need 5 banks to win and you would get 5 BIH's.
In a full rack, you need 8 balls to win, and you get 8 BIH's

The adjustment of the game can take place based on either a line on odds, or they only have to get to 4, something like that.

9ft diamond table break 15 balls ball in hand whats the line on how many balls they can run in a single inning 3-4-5-6? im tired of loosing at the rotation ghost and trying to figure out whats the line is
