On the Diamond table I play on , I bet I make the 4 railer 8× to anyone's 1 on either the 3 railer or the 6 railer.Low percentage shot
Just out of curiosity, why do you want the cue ball in the center of the table? The shot is certainly one that can be missed, and a little low outside with medium speed could plant the cue ball on the bottom rail. Maybe leave your opponent a little tough in case you do miss the ball.I guess I'm the lone crazy guy
but I'm hitting this shot with 1:00 or 2:00 English medium speed. Cue ball comes right back center of the table

Much better. Just having fun.doesnt it sit best for a 4 railer to the same pocket as the op wants to shoot it
Obviously we are just joking around. We'd both make it straight in more often than you make the 4 railer so this is all a bit cheeky. On the Diamond table I play on , I bet I make the 4 railer 8× to anyone's 1 on either the 3 railer or the 6 railer.![]()
From just a little right of the center diamond to about a half diamond from the corner, the 4 railer is a way higher percentage shot than it looks. The angle looks like it will send the cue ball away from the path of the 8 and the scratch is easy to avoid. On the Diamond table I play on , I bet I make the 4 railer 8× to anyone's 1 on either the 3 railer or the 6 railer.![]()
I feel ,on the table I play on , the 3 to the side is a very difficult shot. I don't know if I can make that in 25 tries. I feel a little more confident about that 6 railer. Like maybe only 24 tries. I do feel better then 50% on the 4 railer so.....Obviously we are just joking around. We'd both make it straight in more often than you make the 4 railer so this is all a bit cheeky.
But you might want to be careful with those odds. If you got dialed in on the 4 railer I think the best you'd do is 50/50. That means giving up 8:1 I'd have to make 1 in 16 to break even. I don't like your end of it.
I'm down to try sometime if we meet at a tournament. Nothing serious, but it would be a fun story.
Anybody know how to do these on virtual pool 4 ?I feel ,on the table I play on , the 3 to the side is a very difficult shot. I don't know if I can make that in 25 tries. I feel a little more confident about that 6 railer. Like maybe only 24 tries. I do feel better then 50% on the 4 railer so.....
I am going to try all 3 to capitulate my growing curiousity.
Bottom outside firm stroke to play it in the right corner, or sometimes I may choose extreme inside to play it in the left corner, just enough bottom to avoid the scratch in the right corner.Half tip of bottom left, cut to the right corner.
If you miss the back cut it you are highly likely to double kiss it.Bottom outside firm stroke to play it in the right corner, or sometimes I may choose extreme inside to play it in the left corner, just enough bottom to avoid the scratch in the right corner.
I know I’m in the minority on that second choice, but I like it because I’m the rare player that loves using inside spin on cut shots, and if I happen to miss, unless I double kiss it, I’m sending the cue ball around three cushions up near the upper right corner, likely leaving a long shot.
I guess the other reason I love that shot in the left corner is because I’m a 14.1 player since 1970, and this is an extremely common break shot cut angle that most 14.1 players will salivate over!
Yes, maybe for me, but not for accomplished professional 14.1 players - the sharper the cut on the break shot in to the pack, the better! If you miss the back cut it you are highly likely to double kiss it.
That looks a little steep for a 14.1 player to "salivate" over.![]()
There are few absolutes in life and this is not one of them.Yes, maybe for me, but not for accomplished professional 14.1 players - the sharper the cut on the break shot in to the pack, the better!
Here's my choice of shots - simple rolling CB or simple stun/draw, both with no side spin.Anybody know how to do these on virtual pool 4 ?
