How would you play this?

I don't know why I'm laughing uncontrollably, might be the Jack Daniels, but I can't stop laughing.

But seriously, 11 in the side.

11, 3, 8, 9, and the 15 as my break shot, if you get out of shape off the three to the 8, you have a back up ball (the 15). Then you can set up off the 9 for the 8 to be your break shot.

Im not a great shape shooter so I always look for "the just in case plan".

in the moive the Hustler Fast Eddy banked the 15 into the 11 and split the side pocket, it was not as short as it is here but he played a bank combo when he was running out on fats in the beginning of the movie, next time you see it watch out for that shot.

Like one guy said when it was on at the pool room one night "anyone shooting that shot can bet what they want", I think Toby said it as he was walking past-they way he said it was funny as hell, but you had to be there to see how it would be funny. He was right! This was just before he beat Archie for something like $600,000.

Every once in awhile you have to shoot a ball in the corner pockets up table.

I shoot the 8 with follow leaving an angle for me to use bottom right on the 3 to get back to the rail close to where we started to shoot the 9 ball straight into the left corner leaving a straight in on the 11 so I can stop the rock and destroy the rack on the 15 break shot....

It's all about the break shot and I'll shoot just a slightly more difficult pattern to get me into the wheelhouse.

I am sure Willie is turning over in his grave....

If the 15 can be cut into the lower left pocket then let the rock fly around the box and i'm sure something good will come of that, cut'em thin to win.:grin-square::grin-square:

Poor Al he starts a legit thread and we come on here with all these crazy shots. Al please understand that were just busting your chops, Neil likes the 8 ball first, I liked the 11,3,8,9 the best, my second choice is the 8 first. The reason its my seconf choice is I dont like to shoot long shots when I play 14.1. But please understand my high run is 8 playing 14.1 and 12 playing one pocket-how many players have higher runs playing one hole than straights??? perhaps only me, boy am I a mess.

Neil, why the 8 first-on the square??, I'm curious and respect your opinion. this is a difficult thread with all the jokes mixed in with a serious question.

Yea, sorry. I get carried away. I would post this in the 14.1 forum to keep clowns like me out of it.

But for real, 11 in the side. :)

Your key ball to the break ball is almost as sacred as the break ball choice itself. I am leaving the 11 as long as I have a shot I can make 95%+ The 8 while longer is pretty much straight in with just enough angle to come forward and get the nasty 3 gone and get back in line..

On a side note the 3 should never be up on that end of the table in the later stages of the rack... If it ended up there because your opponent missed you get a pass... If you left it up there yourself from the opening of this rack, I am betting against you having gotten close to running a century yet....
