What Bob Jewett said, plus...

I sure like Bob's suggestion to go to a tourney, make some lasting memories, so, if it were me:

Go to the US Open.

Complete your table recover.

Best,
Brian kc

In my situation, I'd have to go cue/case combo, as I don't have something really nice yet.

In the OP's situation, I'd go with the trip/tournament option. Yes, really decking out the home table is a good option, given how much enjoyment the OP will get out of it on a daily basis, but that is something you can probably justify to yourself spending some $$$ on over time. The tournament/trip might be something that would be more difficult to justify dropping the dough on, yet could be the trip of a lifetime.

Either option sounds nice. A delightful problem to have. Come back and tell us what you decided, and how it worked out!

well if i had an Extra 1000$ i would use it to goto DCC or U.S Open too meet FatBoy Derekdisco Jayhelfert an many of AZB that will be there. Allso SarahRousey :P 1k wouldent be enough for the trip but thats what i would use it for

If I were to have $1000 that I wanted to spend on pool, I'd spend it on gas, hotel, and entry fee for the US Open. I know I couldn't compete, but that's what makes it frivolous, and how great would it be just to say I tried it?

I'd sign the check and hand it to Randy G, so I can learn until the money ran out. I think we have all the equipment we need, we just need to learn how to use it :)

with your table skills, Robley, you should be able to make the G-note grow some. ;)

$1,000 bucks on Pool stuff

1. Cuetec R360
2. Lucasi Hybrid
3. My home table recovered with Tournament Blue
4. Whatever is left spent on Lessons. George Hammerbacher is in my area!

I'd love to try both of those cues on a nice newly covered table.
If you like my idea please donate. I'd be happy to submit reviews! :D

I wouldn't spend it on a $900 custom cue but I would use it as a deposit on a custom cue. I am definitely willing to spend a lot more than that on the right cue if I had the money but I'm just not one of those guys into real expensive cases. Just me.

In actuality it would probably go to a combination of things, a case, man-cave/table gear, DVDs/books, some gear for the Boys Club and stuff like that.

come to think of it. I like bobs idea. Go to the next DCC and put yourself in all the events. The memories will last forever. And youll get to meet everybody

Maybe better

I'm a car guy...I wonder if you could rent a Ferrari Enzo for a grand?

One of my friends just lost his insurance because of his Ferrari and it will outrun about any ever made so it could be rented, it is a 512 Berlinetta Boxer with a 220mph topend this is a for real raced Ferrari. North Carolina insurance laws will allow him to be self insured with a 1 million dollar bond so he won't be paying any more outragious insurance premiums, lucky dog.

PS I have driven it twice while working on it a few years ago at a top speed of 70 mph, I couldn't afford the consequinces-Jail-loss of job-loss of life but I felt the heat up to 70.--Leonard
