How's this for stream quality?

For some reason I've been out of the loop and ignoring Bigtruck's streams. Then I saw that german stream site where everyone had great things to say about the quality. Bigtruck suggested that if I liked that, I should check out what he's been doing.

I'm really impressed. It's super clear and sharp, even with a couple hundred viewers, and not at all choppy. Kinda makes you sad that some of these other streams look so weak by comparison (I'm thinking of aruba here, but hey... island internet, amirite?)

I totally agree. I have been watching live streaming pool now for just over a year, and I have to say, that Bigtrucks quality is outstanding! Makes me want to watch even more. Keep it up, Ray!

Bigtruck stream

Hey guys Thank You for your feed back it's really to to hear thanks again.

BIGTRUCK AND THE STREAM TEAM

you are absolutely right. Great quality and the stream runs smooth. Sometime i found stream where the quality is so bad or the video/ audio are not synchronized and even if the match is good i lose a little interest in it

Thanks!

Thanks guys! It really means a lot to hear the kind words.

There are even bigger, cooler things in the works!

I would agree about the quality of the equiptment- But as far as ray hansen is concerned- He is a real :kma:

Um... Gammaray... You are entitled to your opinion, but there is no need to resort to that. It only serves to make you look like the bad guy and I'm sure that's not what you had intended. I'm not trying to put you down, but that you should think a little more, before you post.

I believe the purpose of the thread was to say that Ray has good quality live streams, these days. That is quite true. In the past year and a half, we've watched a few select streamers of live pool come a long way in quality and service and we've sponsored them, as we could. Last I knew, I believe Corner Market Bob loaned Ray a good sum of money to really upgrade his system and if this is a picture from the new stream, it is definitely good quality. Corner Market Bob certainly has put his stamp on stream quality.

Someone else said something about the quality of some of the streams still being choppy, etc.. While that is definitely true, it should be noted that not all live streams are intended to be viewed by the world. Some are meant only to make something available to a small audience of friends and/or family members of those in the events. For many of those events, it's more important to get the stream online than to pay thousands of dollars for high quality streams. Although they might be a little more annoying to watch at times, we also need to remember to show our appreciation for the people behind those cameras who bring a son playing in a tournament to his wife's or mother's computer, when she is unable to be there to support him, for whatever reasons she might have. That streamer may not have all the equipment, but his/her dedication to the sport and the audience is to be commended. When this first really took ahold in 2008, many of the current streamers who are advancing in the field were only streaming to get their small, local tournaments online. Their streams were choppy, rough, crashing computers, etc.. Things change a lot in a couple of years, don't they?

I've been missing out on your pool streams because the other pool streams that i've watched in the past were so bad that I lost interest in watching them. The bad streams by others caused me to think that they were all like that and it wasn't worth the time to watch an internet pool stream. I hope I can see your next broadcast. What's the best way to find out about when you will be streaming an event? I seem to miss the threads here on AZ......

When I first read your thread question How's this for stream quality, I immediately thought of how many times I have to get up in the night to go to the bathroom and that you had some advice for us elderly pool players.
After viewing your attachment, however, I realized that this was not going to be my lucky day. Such is life.
Those pics do look pretty good though. :sorry:

what does that big ol blue sign behind the chair say? and is he banking the 11?

The sign say Ozone Billiards and he is banking the 1 and sticking cliff to the stack. Here is the match in it's entirety. It was the final match of the One Loss Side. http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/6762523

Also, you can see recordings of past streams and they're at the same quality.

Right now if you go you'll see last night's action featuring Cliff Joyner playing 1p.

Thanks Creedo! Actually only the last few events were done using HD equipment. I hope to make many more streams of this quality available.

Ray you def get props and your stream has more flexibility and a chat to boot than that Norwegian stream that is picture perfect. I can watch your stream full screen on my TV. I do have a bad ass TV but you definitely have the most crisp free stream out there right now.

Guessing ??

Are you using the same software I use to capture streams and watch them
at a later date ? Or did you just pause it and screen capture that shot ?
This software is great I even got a media player by Western Digital that
lets me play anything stored on a hard drive right to the big screen tv.
Now that streams are gettin up with current technology a bit I may post
a thread on how to watch and save streams for later....I need a stream PVR
hmmm.......that's doable

Matt,

I have no idea what software you were using, but I capture on my hard drive and stream live.

Hope you're doing well. Are you gonna come by and say hello in July? I'm planning on being in Atlanta for 10 days!

Ray

well

This is where I live. I was just mentioning the different programs out there
that allow viewers to capture Ustream and You tube videos and save them to
a hard drive(Google it) These programs could be bad for folks who stream and
later make dvds available for sale. Just thinking outloud.I will be here unless
my 4th of July goes really long.I'm in the gym daily and plan on being Joey A's
body guard now that he has celeb status .:grin-square:
