For those who have ever tried BOTH Mezz shafts, can you share your experience that which one you like the most? and reasons please?

I have both of these,

both are very stiff heavy shafts, contributes to a forward balanced cue the Hybrid 2 has a less deflection, but a slightly dampened hit,

the Wd700 has a slight bit more deflection but feels like a standard shaft with a really nice hit, great feel I do prefer this over the Hybrid.

.. you can learn allot by just buying one, getting your feet wet and learning what that cue can do for you, just gotto jump in the water, everyone has their own opinions, you can go on and on reading everyone opinions and posting threads about this cue or that cue, it gets kinda tiresome but isn't time for you to judge for yourself.

best of luck!

if i could get one of the HP2's for less than 250 i'd probably have one already

That's a very good assessment of the two shafts, exactly what I found as well.

the hp2 is stiffer because of the composite core. it also has a different tone due to that....the wd700 feels more like a maple shaft.

deflection-wise i can't tell the difference between the two, but my wd700 is slightly under 12.5 and my hp2 is slightly over, which could be throwing things off. mezz says the hp2 is lower than wd700. either way, both are LD and pretty close to each other.

of the two, i prefer the hp2 because of the stiffness. but my favorite mezz shaft is the alpha hybrid.

i like the hitt of standard shafts, im in the market for a mezz but the ones i want arent made anymore, i love the jm 402 but no longer availeble :(

can't agree any more

I have all of the Mezz shafts: WD700, Hybrid Alpha and HybridProII (and even the original HybridPro).

I prefer to put the WD700 on Steel Jointed Cues with small pin (5/16x14), but sometimes I will load the Alpha. It will be way too stiff to put a HP2 on this type of butt.

For Big pins(3/8x?) and wood to wood cues, I prefer the HP2 or the Alpha or the WD700 is I'm looking to soften up the hit.

The Alpha is a nice middle ground. It is best when I'm not in stroke as it is more forgiving than the 2 shafts (WD700 and HP2). My Alpha was custom ordered at 13.2mm...

miss the regular maple shaft......

HPII- less deflection, more consistent, 12.5mm tip diameter, less warpage due to carbon fiber insert, more expensive for a good reason. An LD that is not whippy. Got to try for anyone to understand. The Kamui black soft or everest, or moori soft is perfect for this shaft. Medium tips feel to stiff and the power is too much. Sometimes less is more.

This is an iffy one.

Here's the deal. Both Mika, Myself, Klatt, and handful of others have commented on the difference between these two shafts. All of us agree that the Mezz specs are wrong. The WD700 feels like it has slightly less deflection than the Hybrid pro 2.

It's also possible that the shafts are so close (plus the fact that wood is not 100% consistent), that select WD700's play better than select Hybrid Pro 2s. It's possible that the ones we compared contained such inconsistencies.

Anyway, either way I strongly believe these are the best cues on the planet, however which model of shaft is better is still up for speculation.

IMO, HP2 is better than WD700. With HP2, you can make english much more with a little effort. Don't be shot too english with HP2, because HP2 itself generate more English for you as you use English.
