I was actually becoming internally infuriated just by watching that freakin video. I would have blown a gasket if I was playing this kid.

I have a woman on my APA team that is slower than molasses and I've just about had it. She knows she is slow and when she notices people, including her teammates, are getting fed up with it she gets slower just to make a point. It's outrageous. Her best move is when her turn comes up, she will slowly take one more drag of her cigarette, squint her eyes Clint Eastwood style, stare at the table from her chair, grab her stick and slowly walk to the table. She then proceeds to walk around the table no less than 2x while chalking, gets down in her shot and back up no less than 3x, thinks some more... then calls time out. All the while she will then take the shot and miss after a good 5-7 minute process. She has countless times taken over 1.5 hours for a race to 3 on 8-ball on bar boxes.

This has singlehandedly made me decide to quit APA as soon as I have fulfilled my city tournament obligations.

Good cure for people like this, BREAK AND RUN 3 and volunteer to rack my own. That way they don't have to put the cigarette down. Of course non-smoking is the law out here now.;)
 
The Behnke family are great !

I have much respect for the entire Behnke family . They are a great bunch of shooters and always conduct them themselves as gentlemen . I promise you he wasn't trying to shark his opponent .

If this kid makes it to the top someday this video will no doubt follow him around for a few good laughs :grin-square:

I probably owe the apology as I took the video and also posted it here back in 2005, I believe. I started out taping my teammate in the foreground and then became aware of the kid in the background. I didn't know who it was either until this thread. If the Behnke family objects to this video, I apologize (been doing a lot of that lately!) and will gladly remove it from youtube.

That impersonation move is my fav. If I play someone who's mega slow, I just slow up 50x what they're doing until they tell me to speed-up.... and then I say "how about we settle this with a 5 second shot clock." If someone looks goofy like that, it's like ya HAVE to be goofy back... mannerisms and all.

right on.. quickest way to speed up a slow player is move yourself to the speed of evolution.... use an entire chalk on every shot.....

if you can make the slow guy complain about slow play you win!!!! LOL
 
I'm no shrink, but it sure looks like some kind of OCD to me.

I don't know what got me thinking about this, buy I have on occasion wondered if you did have obsessive compulsive disorders, whether pool would be good therapy, or if it would drive you crazy?
