I am sick, car broken into!!!!!!!

It was stolen in the Halls community in Knoxville Tennessee, in a little strip mall.

If it is a small community, hopefully it will stay there. You might get lucky and run into it at some point in the future.

Are there any Pawn Shops close by. These scum are usually looking for a quick hit and run for drugs or whatever and the goods tend to get turned over pretty quick.

Not true RJ. I had comprehensive and it covered a stolen cue, and a compact VCR setup in a suitcase. Total of just those two items was more than $2K. They paid, less the $100 deductible.

Sorry scott, but it is true. Hate to pull rank, but I work for one of the largest insurance companies in the world. Nobody could possible underwrite an auto policy based on what they may or may not carry in the vehicle at the time of a coverd loss. It would be impossible for an actuary to come up with a predictive model for such a wide range of scenarios.

However, if you got paid, and I believe you, you got the roll of your life and should just smile and know you saved yourself a claim with your homeowners insurance.

However, if you parked your car in a secured parking garage where they valet it, you could make a liability claim against the parking company....but that is not comp.......and it varies from state to state.....

RJ...I'll defer to your expertise, and just smile on the roll. It was 1989 in Idaho...I lived in MT at the time. Funniest thing is my insurance was neither cancelled, nor went up in premium from the claim! Just lucky I guess. :D

update on my cues,

They showed up leaned against the door of the local senior center, where I shoot most everyday through the week. I got them back.and have no idea what the story really is.:smile::smile:

Congrats on getting your cues and case back Ron. That's awesome. Any chance the
thieves are on this site and read about the cameras?

Great ending........and don't leave your cues in the car again but if you do, use the trunk or else carry the cues with you on your errands.

Wow, what an unexpected outcome!!! Congrats on getting them back.

Pool Cues have to have the highest 'returned to happy owner' ending of ANY other stolen item BY FAR!

When i started playing seriously 25 yrs ago-In 5 years or so, the return rate was 100% -4-4. Then one was lost forever (last i heard) and then about 3 more got returned. After that the rate eventually settled in pretty high around 65%. (my area, my estimate)

I dont think ive ever heard of the return of any other type of item that in anyway approaches the return percentage on pool cues. I assume there are several things about pool players that add up to the reason for it-including, mobility, small community, high percentage of cue geeks roaming around and others im sure.

I went to pawn shops, the local pool hall this sight, and told all my buddies. that the pictures of the parking lot would be ready to view today.Guess the work got out .
This sight might very well be responsible for the return. thanks guys

Good stuff Buddy. I guess that the word did get out.

A word of advice. Sell your main player and buy a Meucci. No one will steal that one.

LMAO

Grats on the cues back Ron. I've only lost 1 cue and it was while I went to the restroom and my buddy went to smoke. Now they don't leave my sight, if I'm walking away I have the bartender put them behind the bar for me even if it's for 2 minutes. I would rather someone take my car over my cue anyday.
