I bought a Fake!

I was offered this cue 2X and saw it once listed for sale on a popular auction site. I think I even saw it one time on AZ when a potential buyer was asking about possible authenticity.

I'm not big on knock-offs, even if a seller is not telling any lies. A poor quality knock-off (which I deem as anything not liscenced by the trademark owner) only damages the good name of the company.

Schon deserves better than this crap. I posted a 5 second video of my removing the name from this obviously fake cue. The video is no thrills...recommended for cue activists only:embarrassed2:

OK I didn't really buy it...I traded some hooked piece of junk for it. But it was authentic junk!
I acquired it fully knowing that it was bogus.

Its owner would not take the loss on it and continued to show interest in selling it. (he never misrepresented the cue, but in my opinion, the guy who laquered over the SCHON name sure did)

I too was sick of seeing this flagrant insult to Schon quality so I bought it to stake my tomato plants this season. If it holds up the vine...I'll say it plays as well as it possibly could.

OK flyingsnail...I just added some boxes. The corners are very "sharpie". Pics really don't do the miters justice.

Great job, but I think the cue deserved a fire sale, a little Gas and match and all is good!!!!!:)

Thanks Craig
I hoped someone would appreciate what is really behind my actions here.

It's not about a funny thread, but rather, saying I'd give something up to see a forgery removed from the market. I like to make folks laugh, but I need to show respect for honest cuemaking. it's a small gesture based on a strong principle.

Thanks Jayman

Send the offer to Evan Clarke. If he says it's enough, I'll put the name back on the cue and ship it!;)

It's offers like this that start myths... I'd send you the cue to evaluate but some Hobbit guy named Frodo is climbing a mountain with it now.

Maybe Manwon's bar-b-CUE idea is the way to go.

I like it. Seems trendy nowadays. If it's ivory you should donate it to OMGWTF. She'd like seriously dig out those inlays & carve some ivory jewelry.

I need a 20 ounce cue to make into a break cue, scrape the decals off and I will pay shipping, but the cue will have to be cheap!!!!! If that doesn't work, I need a stakeout pole for my kayak to use when fishing shallow waters and trying to hold position. John
