I break like a girl

I max out at 19-20mph. I play nearly 100% 8b and would love to get another 2mph on my break. I would probably need someone to work with me on my mechanics to do any better.

I used to try and hit 'em like Archer or C. Williams. (putting a lot of body/follow through into it)
After watching SVB in person and in videos, I've been trying his more upright approach.
I like this method better.
**Samsara break tip is nice too!!!

I've been using the app for a few months now. My best was 21.3mph, two times in a row. Normally I'm at 18.5 mph. That's where I'm most accurate. I mostly use the app to see what speed a particular table breaks best. Then I write that info down for future reference. Along with a few notes....such as basic temperature (cold, cool, average, warm, hot), basic humidity (dry, average, damp).

I'm experimenting to see if I can return to a particular table and duplicate good previous results. My ddatabase is still small. Have noticed limited results, but after I did, they recovered the damn table! Had to start over. lol.

I'm probably wasting my time but it might pay off.

I bought the Predator break speed app for my tablet last night. I was very humbled when I tried it out on my table. I can barely break over 20mph.

I used the app on the Dennis/Ko match this morning. Both of their medium-hard breaks register around 21.5mph, which is harder than my max break.

I need to try it on Deluna's break while he's playing right now, but alas I'm at work.

jsp <~~ needs to hit the weight room

Somebody once told me I don't break like a girl. Was I supposed to feel complimented?

The sexist vernacular that gets tossed around this place...... Sheesh.

I still wouldn't want to break like Jasmin Ouschan or GYK no matter what. Call me sexist, but where are the women that can break like SVB? I don't normally clock myself anymore, have learned about how hard I'm hitting them based on previous results. But I recorded myself and a few buddies a month ago. I started with that, and yes it was controlled.

Wow! 24mph! Such a macho guy!

Oh please.... Most men don't break like Shane, so what's your point? Shane is a man, therefore breaking like a man means breaking like Shane?

Yes, you are definitely sexist.

Ever the diplomat, always with the chip on the shoulder.

Maybe some knowledge about the Break Shot is what you need. Learning about the task at hand will get you further down the road. Joe Tucker & I wrote a book on the Break Shot. The book is 180 pages on just the Break Shot and the book has received many an accolade. You can get one on the BreakRAK website...

Practice makes a lot of difference too, but you still need the knowledge.

How the balls are racked, where you break from and where the cue ball hit the rack are also important. If you break extremely hard but do something else wrong you won't get a good result.

Watch the guys who rig the rack. They don't break extremely hard.

The break is so simple..........

There are about 3 adjustments to make on the break.

One of the biggest problems for a person breaking is that many players stand exactly like they would when they shoot a shot.

If you were going to sucker punch someone would you stand the same way. Absolutely not. You would turn your body right and get some good torque behind it but then again most people don't know how to throw a punch.

The other part is most players don't even actually see the cue ball hit the head ball. Why not? because the natural motion when they bring the arm forward takes us out of line unless we adjust our body accordingly.

Once a person learns how to apply this leverage, and that's all it is, the break can evolve from there for yourself.

I've developed this series of adjustments by doing over 2,000 lessons in a very short period of time.

Just give me a call and I will share this with you over the phone while you are at the table. You will see results immediately if not sooner.

715-563-8712 call anytime. if I'm doing a lesson I will call you back when I'm done.

Looking forward to helping you. gene The Perfect aim guy.....

Can't believe you ain't called yet....

The info I offered you is valuable stuff.

And Free. just want to help................

Tomorrow afternoon is wide open.

In fact anyone can call. Just be by a table. 715-563-8712

I know you like to promote your aiming system, but for the dense people in the world like me, could you please explain

"you will see results immediately if not sooner"

How do you get sooner than immediately?

Thank you Fran. The sexism on AZ gets tiresome.

Results will be real quick basically.....

And there is no promotion here. I'm just trying to help.

In Indy, when I first started showing this it helped about 10 players in a row improve the power of their break. Bobby Dickerson Sr will vouch for that. He was the first one I showed. I hardly ever shared this.

In 2009 when I beat Beau Runnigan twice to win the ACS 8 ball he basically told me I beat him with the break. He said those balls just exploded and just right.

Back when all the 9 ball tournys were winner breaks I won allot of them on the bar table. The old timers out there would know this. This was back before all the racking secrets when you just had to smash mouth the break. We racked for each other so it wasn't the best rack all the time. power was essential.

I might make a video if I live long enough. But for now it's just free advice.

That's all I have.

I do teach this to all my Personal lessons. and it does help about 95%of them for sure.

And the results are within a few racks of breaking.

Foot position is important and leverage.

I can have a small girl breaking like King Kong in a few minutes.

I did it over and over on the road.

As soon as I can get going again it with happening everywhere I go.

If you give me a call I'll help you with it also. I do about 5 to 10 free things per week with players around the country.

And yes, it all works good right over the phone.

I've done over 1000 free phone lessons in the past 5 years and never really did allot of them until 3 years ago.

Give me a call and try it out.

In fact, anyone that reads this thread and is by a table can call me in the next 4 hours and I will help you learn this breaking technique. it's real simple and easy to understand.

715-563-8712 when you call use the code.

I want to break like King Kong. [/SIZE

Just kidding. just give me a call and let's have some fun.

If it doesn't work you can get on here and tell everyone.

But that won't happen because it does work.;)

Don't let it get the best of you.

I know some gals who break like men, so that evens it out.
Corey Deuel doesn't break hard and he's a Champion.
