Today was a long detailed article about the Canadian tournament in Kelowna. Yet there was almost no write ups about the wonderful BCA tourney up in Reno recently. Whats going on? THis tourney had 3 events with some of the top young players in the country. After TAR situated themselves up there Im sure this tourney would get some press. But nil. AZ could have helped with the detailed info about payoffs, brackets, and the day to day reporting. Was there something I missed?

I think someone has to step up and provide the content to AZBilliards and they will publish it, otherwise they cannot afford to be at every event to document the happenings. I think the service that TAR provided was live content and not after the fact print/internet based content. Whoever was responsible for hosting the event should have provided the content to AZBilliards for posting. My guess is that is where the ball was dropped or they probably were too busy running the three events to take the time to create and send the updates to AZBilliards for posting.

Just my thoughts on the matter. If you were one of the lucky ones that purchased the three PPV events, TAR did an excellent job of keeping you updated on those broadcasts. Thanks TAR for the great and cheap coverage.

Don,
you are dead on in that if the tournament directors/tours/etc. do not provide details, whether by phone or email, it is impossible for the site to update its readers. there was a write-up prepared with the final results (which was what was provided). i can tell you from experience that you can call non-stop to an event, but if the TDs can't or won't take time to update you, you get nothing - as do the readers of site.

When it was my event, I used to communicate with Mike at the end of each day, and give him an update. I don't know how they handled that this year. I did write a brief article for Billiards Digest about the tournament.

Can't go. Have to stay home to support TAR.

And a big shout out to Big Nasty And JCIN for great coverage at such a reasonable price.

Also you, Halfert and all the others were great entertainment too.

It also would be nice to list all that were behind the mics (real and screen names) and others that helped in the production so they can get a pat on their backs.

AZ is big as we all know, TAR is growing and man their site was good in the beginning now it looks better than most "Big Biz" sites-guess when its -5000 degrees outside they have time to work it;) . I have awalys been a advocate for multiple company persuites, it works thats why the Govt has anti-trust laws because when companys work together like the OPEC countrys do(ramming it up our asses at the gas station) their joint efforst are better for both businesses.

having said that I would encourage the "TAR clan" and the "AZ boys" to comminuicate as I dont see any bad things for either party, sure TAR has a message board but it wont put a dent into AZ(not a knock) hell I want to see ANYTHING thats good for pool happen. I cant se anything bad at all comming from a realtionship between the Boys and the Clan.

OK TAR guys! You guys are going to be in Vegas. When are you going to let us know why? What do you guys have in store for us? I wont come out for tournament play, unless its one hole, but I will come out for a great match up. I got my fingers crossed!!! You guys are the tops.
About why I started this thread. We get a long detailed article about a Canadian tournament and almost nothing about a major tournament in Nevada. THe Canadians have a pool site of their own. Thats fine we applaud them. But when John Pinegar takes down 10K (not including any calcutta money) it should rate some space on the page. When Mitch Ellerman takes Jose Parica in two to win the tourney thats news. Also to find out about all the lower echelon players and their journey in the ranks was almost nil. It would have been nice to see what your local favorite was doing on a particular day. Who was it that knocked Shane Van Boening out of the 8 ball? SVB being touted as the best 8 ball bar box player in this country. Phoenix tourney before the Reno event got bigger press. Stan Tourganeau won that one we all know but it was big news that LA local favorite Damian Alishan beat him to destroy his chances to repeat in the 8 ball event. Had to be on TAR to get that news and it was 1 AM in the morning that I accidently heard it. You had to be on the PC all hours to get any inside news.

Who beat Shane? Adam "the sleeve" Behnke knocked him to the loser's bracket, where he was eliminated by a well-known California player Tinsley Johnson. The thing to remember about this tournament is that it is a race to five, with alternate breaks. If you break dry once, and your opponent doesn't make any mistakes, you lose. It was a great time! Any more questions I can answer for you?

someone at the BCA is dropping the ball. I wonder if anyone from the BCA even surfs this forum? If your business is pool, you should have someone in your company surfing the largest pool enthusiast forum.
