I've met and been around many celebrities in my life and didn't care for many of them but you are so down to earth, fun to be around, and pool knowledgeable that it was a sheer pleasure to get to meet you. We'll look forward to the time you pop into "Grady's".

The problem with me claiming that is that it was a long time ago.
I really haven't played straight pool more than once or twice in the last 10 years. I've just always loved 9 ball and 10 ball.
Still, I would love to run 100 some day just to say I did it

Good for you, that is a very respectable high run for someone who doesn't play that much straightpool, what am i saying, that;s damn good sir (my high is 16, I suck).

I hope can post some pool playing on youtube. Maybe you could do the next big pool movie. And if someone takes a swing at you, take to the mat, and choke the crap out of him. It could be UFC and pool friendly:wink: .

I'm pumped. I think the UFC is going to make a stop in Omaha, NE this fall. Hopefully Houston Alexander can refrain from getting knocked out in the first hundredth of a second this time. I'm looking forward to it. I'm also looking forward to the 5th. I hope Forest smokes Rampage. After watching Rampage this season though, he is pretty damn funny. What a great sport...I wish I was young, skinny, and tough

They should have a season of the Ultimate Fighter where they take guys with no formal MMA training at all, none, who think they are tough (bar stool tough guys). A complete rookie type thing. That could be amusing to watch.

I see guys at the bar talking tough all the time about how they would do this and that to these UFC fighters, if they were in the octagon. After enough beer I may have even been guilty a time or two:wink: I think it would be an amusing premise to train them for six weeks or what ever and then give them a shot. I think it would porbably humble most of them. At the same time it might produce one or two great fighters.

Hey Grady, don't know if you remember me but I met you in Cleveland 20 years ago on tour with my band Great White and you and Jimmy Fusco came on our tour bus after a break in the straight pool tournament down the street from the hotel. Anyway I was at the ipt event the other night in Studio City and was sorry I didn't get a chance to say hi because I had to leave early to make a flight to Germany. Just got a chance to watch the match. It was PPV for a while, now they made it free again. Joe your commentary was great, you kept it funny and interesting. I didn't realize how important it is to have a good commentator in there during a relatively slow match like this to keep it interesting. I couldn't wait to see what you would say or ask next, lol. Man, good point about that slow nap cloth, that stuff does suck. I for one definitely wouldn't want to play on it. I think the players don't really want to say anything negative about it because it's made by one of the sponsors, and was chosen by Sigel, and Trudeau. I know they use it in an effort to make things more difficult, but c'mon, nobody plays on that stuff anymore, I mean get with the program. It's as if they've tried to re-create the feeling of playing in a place that a serious pool player definitely wouldn't want to be playing in, like some dive bar, with beer soaked felt, not even worthy of being called cloth. If they're going to have Gorina as a sponsor, at least use their Granito Basalt worsted wool cloth, which would be similar to Simonis 860. They had to have that slow nap cloth specially made because nobody uses it anymore. Oh well, what can you do? But great job overall man, and hope to see more of you. Thanks. Vince

I've played on the new Gorina slow-nap cloth and it isn't actually that slow. The problem is that the rails are incredibly slippery, they take no spin and slide ridiculously. This is nothing like the old pool hall cloths of old which would have been slow with sticky rails.

A couple of months play on that Gorina cloth and you've got one of those slow and sticky tables you always wanted.

The good thing about napless cloth is that the rails play similar whether they are new or quite old.
