i just want to say to kevin thank you for what you have done so far.i know your already rich and you dont need to be messing with us poolplayers.i think some people forget that ,i have not.if you folded tent right now you have done alot for pool and me.people are quick to forget you already paid out a few million to us players and treated us great and believe me we all appreciate it.i know youve hit some major snags but i just hope you know the players are thrilled that your trying to put on the ipt.anyway hang in there everybody at the ipt and lets go to chicago and have a good time.again if he does not pay everyone and quits right now hes done more for me and the other in one year than anybody ever.dont give up on us kevin we have not given up on you.i think i speak for alot of people on here. also ive noticed kind of a mob mentallity on this forum ,it seems like its a hobby for everyone to bash him.anyway lets give him some positive feedback and see if he can get things on track. respectfully john schmidt
John,
You know how I feel about you, you're a friend first and a poolplayer second. Even though I missed out on staking you at the Open, I called you right away to say congrats. You WON the U.S. Open John! You ARE a U.S. Open Champion for life! Now you have a best selling DVD out to. Hey, where's that tape?
I predict bigger things for you in the future too. Just keep your head down and take dead aim. I remind you now of some of the conversations we had about the IPT. Like you, I hoped for the best for the sport. But the handwriting was on the wall, and I did not trust this man's "guarantees".
I said don't get your hopes up and be glad for whatever you win here. It may not last!
I still hope for a miracle, but am not counting on it. The past 50 days have told the real story of KT and the IPT. Regardless of what he says or does now (including paying some amount of money), do NOT trust this man to fulfill his promises. He will let you down again I'm afraid.
Yes, he threw a nice party or two, but it was more about his inflated ego than any love for the poolplayers. He had a plan to exploit you and the sport for his own personal gain and it didn't work out. Granted he did pay off for two (exactly two) of the promised eleven tournaments. I remember the early schedules for 2006 and 2007.
The way I look at it, is whatever you won is a bonus, a gift from a not so wealthy man, who wanted to look like a big shot. And he did for a minute.
Now go on with your life. Around the corner is the WPC and they will be looking at you, the REIGNING U.S. OPEN CHAMPION! Everyone will be gunning for you. You WON the last big tournament in Pool. If you somehow can find a way to win this one too, YOU will be the King Of The Hill, the MAN!
Fame and stardom are right around the corner. You can become part of the elite of Pool, the ones who get invited all over the world for the major competitions. The ones who actually make a living at Pool. Like Earl, Johnny, Thorsten, Efren, Ralf, Mika, Alex, Francisco etc. Welcome to the club John! Now go kick some ass.
I'll be there sweatin' it. It would be great to see an American win. And no one has a better chance than you right now. Jaybird
