I really hate to post this but here it is. After ordering a McDermott cue only to find out it was an import i canceled it and made a big to do about buying American made. So today i went to a local billiard store told them the price range i needed to be in and would they match internet prices? I picked out 3 cues in my price range and they met or were $10 higher. Good enough, so i tried out my first choice which was a Joss JSM20 . The shaft was not round and the taper was uneven and i remembered that the Joss web site said Dan Janes inspected every cue that went out the door. Well he must not have been in that day. So this kind of ticked me off. Yeah i know i'm a fussy old fart but so be it.So here comes the hard part. I then tried a Lucasi cue.The shaft was perfectly tapered and very clean. And it was perfectly round. The finish and workmanship was surprising good for an inexpensive production cue and the hit was very good. This is a Cocobolo cue and had a better balance and hit then the maple Lucasi cue i tried out a while back. (differant wood?)So I bought it for the same price as on the internet and just had to pay sales tax. While i did not buy American made at least i kept the money in my city and helped out a little by paying sales tax. the cue is great looking simple but rich. It is lucasi L EWR. Forgot to add i paid $225 plus tax.It really looks better then the photo that i stole off a web site.
