I Just Started A Blog

I was goofing around today and decided to see how hard it is to start blogging. After a couple of hours I came up with this

http://theactionreport.blogspot.com/

I plan on it being kind of a behind the scenes type thing where I can tell some of the of the wall stuff that happens in my travels and experiences with TAR and in general.

The first post is up and is about what I did last weekend.

Parental Advisory: It is uncensored. If you are bothered by four letter words or any variant of them just skip it.

Big props to OMGWTF for telling me to do a blog. It only took a year but I finally did it. I live my life on cue maker time I guess.

I am looking forward to reading your blog on a ongoing basis. Behind the scenes approach should be interesting.

The only thing I would suggest, is to kill the bold font. It makes for a hard read and you want to make it easy on the eyes.

Also, you may want to look into installing Wordpress on your site, there are many excellent themes out there for free and make for a very professional looking blog.

Thanks for taking the time to do this.... The hardest part is to keep doing it after a month or so when the newness wears off :D

I got rid of the bold. You were right, I like it better.

I was going back and forth between the blog or Twitter and I just cant get into the Twitter thing. We'll see how it goes.

I have the patience of a 3 year old so installing anything I have to learn or that could complicate the system of stone knives and bearskins holding our site together is a no go for now.

Very nice JCIN, I'm looking forward to reading more.

I'm not sure what it means but I started following your blog, first btw, does this mean that I will receive an email each time you post?

Your guess is as good as mine. LOL

It is crazy how easy it is to set up, free too. I have no clue how the following thing works though. I am sure it will evolve along the way as I pick up a clue how it works.

Thanks for reading it.

Way to go Justin. I really enjoy your wrap ups after events and thought it was a shame that it gets buried away by some threads. This was a great idea - and kudos to OMG for suggesting it.

Can't wait to see future blogs.

S.

Hurry and post again so I know.

I guess I'll find out soon enough.

JCIN, nice blog. Joe Rogan is the man. Thanks for all your doing for the pool world.

Just one question, Justin... why didn't you just post your blogs at your own website?

www.theactionreport.com?

S.

Because that would have involved actual work, research and thought.

LOL.

I hate the tool that I use for our website. It is flaky and buggy as hell but I can't take the thought of learning to use Dreamweaver so I use it. This blog thing just happened today when I googled eblog and figured out how easy it is.

I guess I could always move it if there was a reason.

I do believe you got a winner there Justin. More, more, more. Great read. Johnnyt

PS: But as the #1 fan of OMGWTF...she can give you the call 8.:)

Justin,

I see your using yahoo for hosting and they have a proprietary control panel. They may have a script that automates a install of wordpress. Then you just do a search for free wordpress themes and find one you like and upload to your site.

I'm not knocking your blog... I would read it even if it was in a plain text document.:)

Other than my eyes bleeding from the contrast of the glowing white letters against the black background, excellent blog sir.

That Joe Rogan is one cool mother$%@#*&! When I finally meet you guys, you gotta set up a meeting with Joe too. I'm gonna bring my own bag of gross fear factor sh*t and eat it to try and impress him.

how about a shout out in the next blog!

It's about time, Justin! You always have these great stories (no doubt from hanging around with pool's most entertaining characters...) and I'm glad you'll finally be able to share them with an audience wider than BigNasty is tall (at least about 20 Asians).

As some other posters have mentioned, WordPress is a better-looking platform that allows for more features and layouts. Blogger is easy to use -- perfect if you want to drunk-dial the internet after too much Maker's Mark.

I look forward to reading more...

PS. Isn't a year pretty good by most cuemaker standards? :grin-square:

PPS. Thanks for plugging my blog... in return, I shall post again my fave pic from BCAPL 2009.
