I know nothing about cues - help me understand

Cool..that you paid...at least you show some interest. This is really a general discussion that has been going on for who know when.....just marketing myself here like you I guess!! LOL.

"Quick" I'm sure is a word you are very familiar with that's why you so quick to judge people, quick to jump into thing you don't fully understand and yet you're able make quick assumption and a firm conclusion on what you think constitute a real cue builder vs a cue assembler! I don't need to read through the entire thread to understand that you're already embarrassed yourself....what I don't understand is what are you trying to prove???

That a cuebuilder who uses full splice blanks is only an amatuer cue builder or assembler? That you can become a cue assembler and that cue building is a walk in a park? or Build a cue as good a Kevin Varney in 30 days because you have some woodworking experience? Comn...be realistic!

We already know that answer to these questions..... so what is your real motivation!! LOL

BTW...just don't assemble the cue too quickly. :) Also...thank you for the compliment:) there's not many that would call me a cuemaker...even if you didn't mean it.

Regards,
Duc.

NOTE TO CUEMASTER98 aka ripvanwinkle- if you want to join the discussion, I suggest you read the entire post before you start spouting out ideas, thoughts, and suggestions. This is the second time you have embarrassed yourself.

FYI, I paid Tony Z $50 for the parts. I paid him by Paypal and I believe he willl confirm that I made quick payment. Quick - that is a word that cuemakers don't use too often so I am not sure you will know the meaning of that word.

Tony Z seems like a great guy. The $50 was just a guarantee that I was serious. He doesn't really need the money. Either do I so he can keep it or donate it to his favorite charity.

Your welcome :)

Hey Buddy,

For the Red Rep........your welcome !! ;) ;) ;)

You deserve it X 100.....You really seem to have a problem.

Everyone that you have disrespected on this forum should give you one.

You really need to get a life.

I wasn't threatening you in my thread, don't have to.

People get what they deserve.

I deal with Jerks everyday, you could probably be an Instructor for people wanting to become a jerk.

Just my humble opinion

By the way, I'm not a tough guy, but I deal with people who think they are and they loose !

I changed my Avatar to me...........not a bad looking guy in my opinion, whaddya think ??

I uses to be a nasty guy, I mean I just wasn't very friendly.

I used to go home at night and think, sh*t I gotta be nicer to people.

I think you to take a look at yourself and ask yourself why your doing what your doing.

The people on this forum AZ BILLIARDS are the nicest people in the world.

Even as your insulting them, their still being nice to you. Think about it !!!

And Yes, I have read this entire Post...............waste of time !

The reason I responded to this post is because your attacking people, who I admit I have never met, but that I consider my friends !!!!

Quality is quality and preference is preference.

SouthWest's are quality cue's. But, I don't prefer the way they hit.

Another subliminal threat. Come on man, just calm on out and say it. And show me where I disrespected someone in this thread.....compared to the 100 times of disrespect that was given me. You aren't smart enough to know what respect is or how to earn it.

And why do you constantly type posts and then edit them...or delete them. Stand by your words.

I posted then edited on this Post because, I wanted to change my Avatar so people know what I look like.

I never hide behind anything.

Another reason is because I thought of things I wanted to add to my comment's.

That's about it.

Good luck to you !

Hilarious, you edited a post talking about why you edit or delete all your posts.

p.s. I posted a pic of myself FIRST in my avatar. Glad you thought it was a good idea and did the same.

Would you like to be my myspace friend? Then you could see all the pics that you are wanting to see of me.

Now THAT deserves some green rep right thur!

I was thinking the exact same thing when I read those comments. Quality isn't about looks or hit. It's about materials and execution. I'm anxious to see how things turn out. Maybe watchez turns out to be the next great cuemaker. How about we get a reality tv show going. THE NEXT CUEMAKING STAR.

Yes, and please watchez don't forgot I'm first on the list for testing

I think we need one of these 'events' every so often, they certainly are lively affairs. I've enjoyed previous challenges and so far so good with this one :grin-square:

Please carry on folks.

You are first on the list for testing ??- - this thread has taken so many turns, I have either forgotten or missed that. I think Tony Z would have to be first, well second right after me.

How much would you pay to hit with the first cue that Balabushka made?

Post #53 in this thread. I agree that you should be the first to test it, and of course Tony should have a shot or two given his outstanding cooperation. I'd be happy to be turd, er, third.

If there was a long and entertaining thread about cue-workers preceding his initial stick then I would certainly come up with the $ to ship it to it's next destination. In this case I would certainly come up with the $ to ship ragu-cue to it's next destination.

Be careful about sending your cue around for people to try.
Someone that dont like you will break it across his knee and swear that is how he got it from the shipper.
I know because that is exactly what happened to me years ago.

Willee - can you do this? In mother of pearl or wood only?

The quality of a cue is not preference. Hit and whether something looks good to someone is all preference. Willee performed his execution very well with his translucent cues, while the looks and materials are not your preference, it's still a quality cue, because the workmanship is there, and the execution is there. ARGUABLY, it's a better cue than a wooden cue, because there are no humidity concerns as there are with wood.

To be perfectly honest, I'm not a big fan of those cues either, but because I don't like the looks, I'm not going to say it's not high quality. Now, before you read into my words, I'm not putting those words into your mouth, I'm just demonstrating the difference between facts (quality) and opinion (looks). For someone bashing everyone's comprehension, I would expect more from you.

Good luck with your cue, again, I await it's conversion anxiously, as I will be a cue ASSEMBLER for a while until I'm happy with the tapers, and then I will start my cue MAKING.

First of all - Quality can be high or low.

Quality is all relative to an individual. What is high quality to someone is maybe low quality to someone else. For example, let's look at quality of life. To a 3rd world person, living in a grass hut - a tin roof over his head instead of grass would be high quality of life. To someone in the USA, it wouild be a big screen HD TV.

Also, when you talk about quality - how can Willee's plastic cue ARGUABLY be better than a wooden one. Is the only factor of quality if it will warp or not? Does the hit of the cue matter in the quality?

Quality is just as subjective and not a fact.

I suggest you either buy a dictionary or go to dictionary.com before you attempt to discuss anything further with me.

Makes me think of a joke -

Have you heard about the new Polish dictionary? It has an index.
