I just sold a cue to someone in Singapore and they transfered the money into my paypal accnt and then I transfered the money into my linked bank accnt. Once the money is in my bank accnt would it be safe at that time to ship the cue?? Is there a way the buyer can reclaim the money. This buyer has no prior itrader rating. I want to ship the cue but I need to feel confidant the deal is kosher. If anyone has experience with shipping to Singapore please shed some light on this.

Thanks..............TommyT

Be very caeful. I get Emails all the time requesting to purchase cues, They are usually bogus. They can credit your Paypal account and then cancel the payment when you confirm shipping, Email probably full of misspellings and bad English. Be very careful.

As long as you have documented proof of shipping, you should be safe. Is the buyer reputable or unknown?

Was it a random email asking if you ship to Singapore or take credit cards? I get those at lest once a week and I just ignore them. You don't need the hassle even if it is ligit.

I sell lots of merchandise on Ebay but I try to avoid international sale. On Paypals website there is a page addressing SELLER PROTECTION. Make sure that you follow everything that they tell you to do, including shipment to a Paypay "confirmed" address. Like someone else said to you, they can cancell and and try to get the money and the cue after you confirm shipment. But the most important thing is to be sure you ONLY ship to a confirmed address. If they do not have a confirmed address you will not be protected.

i did a deal with an az'r from singapore and had the same fear. my deal went down without a hitch.

actually the 1st cue i ever bought on az i bought from a guy in singapore without even realizing it. i bought an arnot from scorpion

as long as you have a separate bank account for paypal you should be ok. having your main account frozen because of something like this could be a pain.

sometimes when i sell things i fear they'll file a dispute demand their money back and mail me a box of air

Call me Tommy.

I deal with guys in Singapore all the time & have never had any issue. Every single one has been a complete gentleman & honorable to their end of the deal. They have been much better gentleman & customers than I have been a builder. Just my experiences, hope it helps.

Thanks for the replys. The buyer is GASCOIGNE and has no prior dealing on AZ but has 11 posts all about looking for a Coker cue. I had what he was looking for and he paid via paypal. He is anxious to have it shipped and that makes me nervous. I'd like to wait till the funds have safely transfered into my bank accnt before shipping.

Like they said....follow everything to the "T" The buyer has 60 days to file a complaint, saying they aren't happy, and can request paypal to make a decision. I've come to learn, it's 50/50 at best. Cover youself. Make sure to ship it to a confirmed address, SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION is a must....also make sure to insure the cue for the value of the cue. If you ask the Post Office Singapore is the worst with theft. Do all of this, and you should be fine. Hope this helps.

Go with your plan

Tommy, once the money is in your bank then ship. He can afford to wait 3-4 days. but once it's in your bank account you are good to go

Of course he's anxious to have it shipped- you have his money and he lived up to his part of the deal. Why would it make you nervous? I'd want my cue shipped as well if I were him.

I've had problems like this getting stuff shipped to me in Thailand (though it's not as much of a hassle now as I have many deals and references on AZ)- you should have gone the Western Union route if you had so little confidence in the buyer.

Sorry Tommy about being anxious. I'm not some random guy that is trying to do anything funny. I have not found any Coker cue that I really liked other than yours. About being so anxious, I don't have a playing cue at the moment and I can't wait to play with a Coker.

If you still feel the deal is dodgy, just follow what PistolPat says and wait for the cash to enter your account. Another alternative is that you can check with Scorpion, his name is Anthony(you can check with poolplayer2093) and a good friend of mine.

And about no prior dealings, I'm not a cue collector and have always been wanting to find 1 Coker cue that I really liked and thus I have no prior dealings. After a year of working, I have gathered a sum of money to buy a cue that I liked and it happens to be the Coker cue you are selling.

Sorry for the misunderstanding and thanks guys for all the nice things you have said about the Singaporeans.

Gascoigne is a friend of mine. 100% trustworthy. I can vouch for him. No worries TommyT.

I'll ship it today and provide tracking info. I feel better about things now.

People keep suggesting that you ship it "signature confirmation" and to a verified address. But from what I recall there is no such thing as a paypal confirmed address for anywhere except USA, Canada and UK. And you probably can't get a signature confirmation with most shipping methods, either.

So ultimately it's a trust issue, and getting references. I've done several deals with scorpion (Anthony) and others in Singapore so when someone new comes along I ask them for references. They all seem to know each other, which is good. If gascoigne is known by Anthony, that's a good sign.

I can vouch for gascoigne anytime.. And yes i have done countless of perfect deals with az'er all ard the world. And hey Shinobi, its been a while how is things? And thx for the good words!
