Hey guys,

I need to buy a new case, and I know as much about cases as I do about Croatian basket weaving.

I would appreciate it if somebody could recommend a decent case, preferably in the $150 range or less. All I need is something to hold a cue well and to put other small things in, like a roll of quarters or bubble gum.

Sorry to clutter up the board with a pretty useless post. I'm very generous with the reps so if you know a thing or two about cases drop in a recommendation.

Thanks, have a great day!

EDIT: I ended up getting a black 2x4 Porper. I liked that one and the Giuseppe, but I liked the way the Porper looked. Thanks for the offers and recommendations. I gave everybody a rep except for 3 of you. I will get you guys a rep in as soon as I get more to give out. Thanks again!

Have a look at these:

The 1x2 is $160...but the case will likely last you a lifetime, and will keep the moisture out as well. I have a couple of cases of a similar design, and I cannot imagine carrying anything else now. They are also pretty lightweight for carry.

I always say one of the most important pieces of gear you should own is a good quality case, no matter what type of cue you carry. Cues may come and go, but a great case will stay with you a long time! :)

For this price range, I will go with a Giuseppe. Very solid case, light and nice designs.
I will agree that Giuseppe is nice and designed well but they are not light, they are heavy tanks of a case,i got rid of mine because i played alot and lugging it around tired me out and hurt my game, lol.

just one cue? check out the 1/2 instrokes. they're durable and have a pocket to hold most small objects. and they don't look fancy enough for them to walk away when you're in the bathroom

The leather Vincitore cases are the best deal for the money. They are made by Instroke. You can get a really nice one for $100. Giuseppe would be my #2 pick. I own both, you do not need to spend $150 to get a nice quality case.

My point was that the Guiseppe's and Porper's will not accommodate cues of a longer length...or if your cue has a wider butt. I have owned a case from just about every manufacturer, so I think I have a clear understanding in what *I* like and want in a case...especially in a 1x2 configuration.

Both of the above cases are fine cases...but I did find them limiting in a few areas....pocket size being one...tiny, and the weight of the cases loaded. Also, did not find the straps terribly comfortable for carrying on the shoulder when loaded...they tended to 'cut'.

I still have my 8 year old Instroke Premier 1x2 case, and for around $100 or so from www.hawleys.com, they are a great case! Mine has stood the test of time quite well, and even tho it now stands empty, I will not part with it, because that sucker is bullet-proof!! It will accommodate a longer cue no problem...and has a large pocket with plenty of room for whatever you could need.....however, it too is heavy.

I like the It's Geroge style of cases (or Fellini, Centennial, Gore, Kelli, Engles, Thomas, and GTF) simply because they keep ALL the moisture out, are lightweight even when fully loaded, and have a large pocket for all the necessities. Also, will handle a longer cue, as well as cues with a wider butt, and like the Instroke Premier, will handle carry in the pin up, tip down or vice versa. I felt that this was a great deal for a case that, should he ever decide to upgrade, he'll get a good deal of his money spent back on a sale. These cases just NEVER seem to lose their popularity, and demand. I personally felt that for $10 more than his budget, it would be money well spent...JMHO.

One time I purchased an Instroke 'knock-off' case...a long time ago, and before I knew better...and that was the biggest POS case I ever owned!! I would definitely stay away from any and all 'knock-offs'!

I'm not an expert, but...

If you spend $150 on a new 1x1 or 1x2 you are going to get a quality case as long as you don't do it in a shopping mall. I love my It's George myself.

Agreed... You can find the 2x4 Vincitore cases new for just under $100 on eBay.. You can also go to the Giuseppe site and purchase a new 2x4 in any style you want for $110 shipped.

I purchased mine from them 2 years ago. I got a brown suede 2x4 shipped to me directly from them for $110 shipped.

I'm sure you can find them on the web searching at google..

Found this site that has Giuseppe cases...
