Sorry to BUMP this, but I have to say... I QUIT, yes, I am somewhat PROUD of my success, and I am definetly happy to be able to be living to say it.

My weight has stayed down and in fact I have lost about 10 pounds.

For those that are 60 years old and have been smoking for 40+ years.... it can be done... I AM LIVING PROOF.

I quit.

I'll testify to the same thing Tom. I smoked for 49 years and stopped 5 years ago just a couple months prior to turning 60.

Congratulations but take it One day at a time!!

Yeah... 6+ weeks FREE. Using a great drug called Chantix...

Pool playing suxs, but I can deal with that until I get healthier.

On the '06 Derby City one pocket Danny D mentioned that Efren quit smoking and his game declined for awhile, then was as good as ever.

Maybe one of the most important steps to making a good shot is overlooked,....
That step is breathing. Some people hold their breath while shooting which is not good. You should make sure you take a couple deep breathes b4 everyshot to get the 0xygen to your brain, as you are about to release you should always exhale....
This method will give you total relaxation throughout the shot and give you a better percentage to complete your task at hand.

Basically giving up smoking is gonna make you healthier but you may also lose proper breathing techniques that relax you during your shot...

Just a thought and my opinion=)) Congrats on the quiting smoking and remember clean air = clean thoughts...;)

Congratulations Tom! It's one day at a time and it's always for the better.

I'm at 8 years + and if I can just lose some of the weight I put on, I'll be better than ever!
