Fast Eddies Olhausen 9 Ball Tour held it's June event in Odessa this past weekend and it has become traditional to hold a $200 buy in ring 10 ball game on Friday night.
It is left up to the players and 7 guys and one lady {Monica} anted their $200 each and decided to go at it.
Eric is a regular here on AZ and has really worked on his game. Having only been playing 3 1/2 years, Well, let's just say that I was really impressed with Eric. He is composed, determined, and hits the middle of the pocket. He withstood pressure from Jui Lung Chen, Marc Garza, Jason Dutchover, and Brian White from S.C. who plays very solid himself.
When we were down to 3 players, Eric, Chen, and Brian White, I had to smile as everyone was pretty much giveing the nod to Chen and Brian and that given Erics youth, was understandable. You coculd see Eric sensed this too and just had that look which said, "well let's just see what happens".
What happened is Eric broke and ran the next 5 eleminating Chen and then dispersing of Brian in about 30 minutes. I couldn't help but smile and think, God, what I would give to be 22 again and have that attitude again. It was fun to watch.
I' d like to congtatulate Eric on his win firstly. Maybe more importantly on his attittude towards the game and the way he conducted himself. It was very refreshing to see from someone so young. He should also be congratulated on the way he has worked on his game and improved at such a meteoric pace.
A lot of good things are in store for this young man.

I really got in stroke, too bad Brian gave me a bum rack. I heard someone say "thats the only way he has a chance."
