I remember back in the day when operating on AZ billiards was FUN .

Now everything I want to do is above my pat grade . Things are so much more difficult to figure out .

I not a computor wizard , but it would sure be nice if I was . I see everyday people complaining about posting pictures mostly .
I tried leaving feedback for a buyer , I could not even get that accomplised .

Why is it so much better to make it more complicated .
Is it becouse there heads are so much bigger , there noses are so far in the air , they want to keep the fifraft out .

I used to enjoy A Z Billiards .

Reading the replys , I dont think you realize my complaints , WHY SO DIFICULT TO POST PICTURES , WHY SO DIFICULY TO LOOK UP OLD POSTS , TO LEAVE FEED BACK . AND MORE ???? THE KISS SYSTEM WOKS BEST , KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID .

Lots of members moved on, got bored or even worse died.

I left 100% for 6-7 years. Came back, having fun.

I try and balance things here, I like to contribute some pool content, stories or helping a genuine new player. I learn things too, when I’m wrong and can learn great! I like to post pics of pretty girls, or funny things now and then. Or make a bet on a match.

I never argue or name call, I stay clear of the toxic nonsense.

Doing the above things AZB is a great place. My main thing is to make quality posts. No matter the topic. Before I hit “post” I think about it. I never post emotional off the cuff thoughts. The couple times I have and realize it I quickly delete them. As that’s poor form and benefits who? If more people would do this AZB imo would be a better place. As would the internet which I don’t use much-except for biz.

I don't have the same frustrations; but, I hear what JIM BAXTER is saying. I often pine for the days when a phone was just for talking on, cameras just took pictures, maps were something you kept folded-up in your glove box, if you wanted to watch TV you needed a TV set in your living room; and, none of these things required taking a college night-school course in computer literacy to operate, and my toaster made toast without a computer chip and digital display.

I get it.

Anytime I feel I'm in over my head with modern technology, I don't fight it, I just scream: "Somebody get a teenager over here to show me what to do!" - GJ

Nothing remains the same, change is inevitable. This is more of an obstacle for some than it is for others. For senior citizens the world has changed at the speed of light since computers were invented. Its good and bad at the same time..

stereo. Mono Hi records to stereo. Window fan to A/C. A phone was for talking. Stores like Radio Shack, Sam Goodies. Online had to with sports, bottle tops, hop scotch.....Take me back.

Jim, posting pictures is easy as long as the photo is hosted on the internet somewhere. I can't post a pic that is only on my computer but if I upload from my computer to a host site, I use photobucket but don't recommend them. (I've been with them for 20 years so I'm vested.)

once the photo is hosted I just copy the code by clicking "share" from the host site, then click the photo displayed at the top of the post box (next to the emoticon control) and select "by URL" ( click the chain "link", get it) and insert the code in the box provided and click insert like this:
costa-rica-fishing-map.jpg

If you want to post a picture you find on the net just right click on the picture and click "copy image address" then back to the controls at the top of your post window and click the photo, the the chain "link" insert the code you copied and click insert:

Easy pesy. Questions?

It's actually much easier to add pictures that it used to be, just click on the Insert Image icon. Old posts, big search thing up top.

Fatboy, I am going to try to remember this post each time I have an emotional response to a toxic subject or post (assuming I am not vodka addled, and even then I’ll try).

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on this. The high road is more satisfying in the long run, in contrast to the immediate high inevitably followed by the tinge of regret after posting a reactive nasty response to a nasty post.

Great post, @Fatboy.

Susan Marie, the Star!

I was taking a night course in AutoCAD many years ago. Two hours a night, two nights a week. I managed to do something like a drag and drop or similar, takes about two seconds. I was pretty pleased when my first effort might have been just under thirty minutes.

My wife and daughter came to fetch me home, arriving about ten minutes early. At ten or eleven years old my daughter was more than a bit inquisitive. She was standing by my chair but looking behind me. Finally she reached over and took the mouse from the well past retirement age man. "Is this what you are trying to do?" "Yeah, do it again!" She did, four or five times. Soon she had a class of ten or twelve men around her that were still struggling after almost two hours. She had them all sorted out in the few minutes before class ended!

Our biggest problem is that we fight the computer. Children treat it like paper and pencil or a microwave, no big deal!

There wasn't a night in the remaining weeks that somebody didn't ask about their little tow headed tutor. Susan Marie was a bonafide star and the class would have adopted her to spoil in a heartbeat.
