I Want Some More Action!!!

Action galore

I have wired him money and I assure you it is spelled Bartram. Please quit the spelling conspiracy. He is looking for action.

I respect Chris as a person and as a player as well. He's one of the few players that will play just about anyone,or any game and bet his own.Plus he stands up well for the cheese.(except when in Det.) I wish there were more players like Bartram ,and i'll always be in his corner except when i'm betting against him. Tell Chris that we are holding a one pocket tournament in Dallas starting the 9th. of oct. thru the 12th there will be plenty of players and backers in attendance. Would love to see him come.

It is kind of funny, Chris is on here looking for action and all people want to talk about is how to spell his name.........

Well it's probably because most people on here are looking for discussion and not action.

Seems like the ones who are interested in action are hooking up via PM and that's probably the way it ought to be to avoid all the pre-match online barking.

And it's fair to question a "new" poster's validity after the recent spate of multiple personality trolls.

We are just interested in accuracy :-) Is it Duel, Duell, Dool, or O'Douls???

McCready said he will give you a lil action, onehole????

I will play him some nine ball or ten ball but I Don't blame him for wanting to play me one pocket I am like 1 for my last 8 matches at it..

If this is really Chris B. Who did you play at Crown Billiards a couple of years ago. Pompton Lakes NJ. What game, whoo won and who came with you?

hi chris

you have alot of heart and talent and i know its going to be tough action for me especially because ive only got off the bench and played about 5 even money matches in the last 3 years.even if i played everyday for money i would have my hands extremely full playing you.anyway ill get to the point i will play you here in pensacola as im busy doing some work on the house i just bought and cant go anywhere for a while.if you feel like playing say 10ahead for 5-10 thousand i can play anytime in the next week or so.the table is at 9mile billiards with 4.25 inch pockets fairly new cloth in a nutshell it plays very good. talk to you later john schmidt

Chris stays on the road pretty much and I don't think he has a computer. Chances are he has asked someone else to post for him and that is where the mistake may have come in spelling. Dick

Dickie,

Since you know me and you confirm me being friends with Chris, I'll put everyone's minds at ease and squash all the conspiracy theories people are coming up with... "Chris Bartram" is Chris Bartram, the spelling is right, and it's not Walt Frazier. He does have a computer at home and Dickie you are right, he had a friend help him make the first few posts to get his feet wet. When he is on the road and away from his computer he may have me or someone else post for him if need be. It's a smart move on his part to advertise here for action right now.... He's pumped, he has a couple of stakehorses that will flat ship it, he's played a few high profile games lately, and there are several people nationwide wanting to match up with him. So why not advertise here, get some offers, and go whatever way the action tells you!

John you know I need a little weight..If you give me the 9 playing ten ball I will play you some.

That sounds like a great game. Hope this game goes off. I would'nt know who the favorite is? Come on John, show some gamble.

I have a question.

This question is directed to all you big money players...

If someone pockets $10,000 from a win to 10 up in 9 ball, what do you do with the money? How much money do pro pool players make "on the side"?

And why don't these money players commission Tim Scruggs or Ginacue or Mike Bender or John Madden to build a really great custom cue so they can have some style and return the dignity to this game.

That's a concept I take pretty seriously. Conducting myself in a dignified manner while playing pool. I never play pool unless I'm dressed up and it's been said before but you'll never catch The Woim playing with a production cue nor wearing cheap shoes. All my shoes are laced up oxford and brogue made of the finest leather - not a single one of them are under $300.

Why can't these money players (like John Schmidt - who will definitely defeat Chris) dress in a more classy manner. We all remember Jackie Gleason playing Minnesota Fats.... Didn't he look too snazzy for words? That's class. Those two actors were playing with authentic Herman Rambow cues for that movie.

Why can't a big money winner spend $4,000 - $12,000 purchasing a Gus Szamboti or Balabushka?

Every once in a while I get on a tirade about dignity.

If I ever won a $10,000 match in one night, I'd be off to have some bespoke shoes made for $900 apiece and I'd be on the phone the very next morning with Mr. Scruggs, Mr. Bender, Mr. Sugartree, Mr. KCHighendcues and Mr. Tarascella (sp). But's that me.

If i were a rich man...

...but I am a happy man.

then you would know that $900 shoes is a luxury most could not afford. Ask Efren why he didn't buy a $12000 cue and $900 shoes with all the money he has won. Class and dignity can be defined in so many ways. And I agree that I too am a fan of classy people. Nevertheless we don't know why people do things they do for what reason. For some reason i find your post completely despicable. IMO:rolleyes:

Gary

ps i know this is for the big money players of which I am not but was compelled to post nevertheless.

John is one the most well dressed professional players I have ever seen.

IMO, if the others got paid a little better for their efforts they would probably dress about the same. That's life.

Gary,

Explain why you feel that because I'm puzzled by it. But let me add on here...

Gary, I don't know how well you play. But let's assume that you had some backers who insisted on matching us up in a race of 10 ahead in 9 ball and the jackpot was $10,000. In this total, you put 2,000 of your own money. Now, several hours later and after much hot pool lights and sweat and the sweet fragrance of tobacco I eventually prevail. We would then shake hands and, I kid you not, I would hand back to you the $2,000 you ponied up. Then I would immediately spend $1500 in drinks and food for the spectators and I would use the remaining $6500 on vanities like ordering a great custom cue or even buying another silk tie or pair of shoes. That's me. I always spend any winnngs immediately on fun stuff. So, you can see why I'm puzzled by why you thought my post was despicable. I didn't place any reduced value judgements on those who dress in a sloppy manner. It just isn't me and it isn't classy.

Blackjack, John's a handsome guy and a well dressed guy too. I think I've said John is a handsome man every time I mention him ;) I was referring mostly to the big money backroom player and not the pro.

Very Truly Yours,

How do you dress up there in Belleville or St. Louis or wherever you are? I have some video that shows how you dress at the pool hall, and that stuff is definitely not Armani.

The problem people have with your post is that it came across as an insult to one of the top players in the U.S. and towards our current U.S. Open 9 Ball Champion. Your coments were disrespectful and baseless and they were intentionally menat to come across that way.

HERE YOU GO, WOIM

The first shot is appropriately titled, "Dress To Kill". lol... however in the last shot it appears you're shooting trick shots in your boxers.

Your welcome for the free advertisement of your upcoming dvd's.

Well

If indeed you gave me the $2k back I would say you are a very classy guy. My point being that I don't know why these players play. For what
reason(s) being maybe they have family obligations I don't know. But to each his own in all walks of life. And BTW I am/was not ridiculing you for your practices although it may have come off that way. If it did I do apologize. I thought your post was judgmental toward money players. I read from your post that you were calling them classless because the way they dressed. You still have folks that dress like the 'Fat Man' did in certain circles. I have been on the road with several good players that have shown they have class in different ways. And vice versa.

Point being this: Not everyone uses their winnings for 'fun things' it may very well be the element that keeps them and theirs from starvation. just my opinion.:)
