I Won This In A Tournament Last Night..........Scruggs

Very nice cue, John. The best looking PJ Scruggs I've seen! Let me know when you get it back to the states if you really mean to sell it.

Have a good one, Chris.

What? We paid for a Scruggs with our taxes? Congratulations I guess. I don't think that this was a very good thing at all. I like you John but I would have personally bought a bunch more cues to give away to more folks and get them playing pool.

I used to work in an Air Force rec center and I have seen the waste. We had something like 16 sets of Aramith balls and only 2 tables. I saw them tear up and THROW away to great Brunswick tables and replace them with bar tables. We had something like 30 boxes of cone chalk. It's horrible the amount of money that is wasted in the US military. Basically it's a mindset that if they don't use up their budget then they won't get as much the next year.

It's a beauty of a cue. Really nice and I am glad that a pool enthusiast got it. The way it was done is kind of a bummer though.

This type of waste due to yearly budget happens in many armies, government controlled companies and even big private organizations.... it is a shame!

Nice cue! congrats on the win.

Tourney

Nice win!

Also, I don't see a damn thing wrong with the Army investing in a little troop morale. It goes a long way, trust me.

Honestly speaking.....how is this a waste? The Army decided to buy a pool cue for the first place prize. Like I said above it was a prize for a tournament that went for 16 weeks. I have been here for two years and this is the first time this has ever happened. Over the span of 16 weeks there were no prizes except for last night which was the end of the tourny. It's not like they buy a cue like this every week for every tournament. Thanks for the comment my friend.

John

I was referring to the wast that JB mentioned and not to the cue.
I think you guys have a good thing going there, I wish I had a pool table and tournaments with nice "trophies" like that at my base when I was in the Air Force....

BTW, instead of using tax money to get a cue, I'm sure you can find some cue/case makers that would love to donate a cue or a case for such events (hint to all cue/case makers - that was a glove for you to pick up)

Can't blame the military for the waste, they don't make the rules. They just play the game. The rule makers are the ones elected into office & have a seat in our government, and a bunch have never even served in the military. They tell the military that if they don't spend all of their alotted $10 this year, then they'll get $9 next year. This is why there's so much waste, just a tactic in the game to keep a fair budget. I'd rather pay taxes to the military morale than to pay leisure suite Larry's salary up on the hill. Unfortunately we have to pay both. Anyway, enough soap box.

Nice cue :) Nice win. Be safe over there.

Nice win - great TS John. Selling? From your signature I see you already have a very nice collection of players.....:)

Get home safe soon.
