I think you mean Blacksburg Va. It's probally serviced from someone in Lynchburg or Roanoke. Possibly out of Richmond also.

Blacksburg area mechanic

Hello Glen,

Ted here, the Gold Crown is playing great. Better than great, it is perfect. Thanks again.

There is a guy named Willie Compton who sorta roams this area. What do you need?

I'm coming back to that area, Dublin to be specific to recover the 5 Valley 7ft bar tables in the pool room there, and was wondering if any table mechanics in the area would be interested in learning how to recover the Valley tables the way I do...I'd be willing to show anyone that wants to swing by and spend a little time with me...that's all. It'll be around 2-3 week next month. I already rebuilt the rails, recovered & leveled the Diamond 9ft ProAm there with 760 Simonis tour blue, so this is a return trip to get the Valley's caught up.

Hi Ted, your table was challenging to say the least:grin: and a new one on me to rebuild rails in a parking lot away from the house:D How are them Procut pockets treating your game;)

Blacksburg, pockets, etc

My accuracy is improving, but honestly I think the table plays easier than it did before. The balls don't rattle out if I hit them right.

Spent an hour on the phone last night talking to a buddy of yours. Chris Reyes in Vegas. He has a cue that I can't resist. Were your ears burning?

When are you going to Dublin? How about you call me, or vice versa.

I told you tighter pockets would play easier than the bigger pockets that were on your table, because they play right, but they're going to tighten up when the cloth breaks in:D

Glen, you're a true professional in every sense of the word. Very generous of you to offer free advice on your method of recovering a table. Donny of SD Billiards recovered my Global bar box and did a tremendous job. I believe that Donny picked up a few tips from you. Keep up the good work spreading the gospel.

Glen - if you can give me about a week notice on your arrival, I can road trip up there for a day or two. Dublin's about 2-1/2 - 3 hours North of me. I've done a couple install's in Wytheville which is not far from there so would be happy to help and learn that glue down method of yours!!

Thank you Robin, I'll give you as much notice as I can buddy:D

I picked up more than a few tips from Glen. Pretty much everything I do is done the way Glen showed me.

Glen - is Dublin still on your agenda or did I miss you out here?

Robin

You haven't missed out, I'm finishing up in Dallas right now, heading to the factory to pick up Ian's Diamond, running it up to Canada, then heading to VA and PA on the way back to the factory.

Sounds good....give me a shout. I think you have my number.

Let me know if you need to hide from traffic going through DC. I won't put you to work and I will feed you.

I am near both I-66 and I-95.

Can you eat a lot?!!?

Hi RKC-

I see you will be in the mid Atlantic area ( Blacksburg) and I was wondering if you were interested in a challenge in the Raleigh area (Cary- Containment Area for Relocated Yankees)I have a 6 x 12 Riley that I moved up to from a Brunswick Prestige to a Brunswick Centennial to my present Riley.

The locals that set it up are not snooker guys but they did an acceptable job considering that it was the old cloth, however I have a couple of 'ugly rolls' that make it almost impossible to pot balls in one corner since the speed to overcome the roll results in a 'jawed ball'.

I was wondering if you would want to come south a little bit before heading west. We could put you up here- we have a 4 bedroom home with 3 1/2 baths and a friendly chocolate labrador. I can cook for you or take you out if you can come by and look at my challenge. Even if you can not work on this I would value your opinion and provide a home away from home on your way back west. Robin the Table Pro is in Charlotte a couple of hours away and I would be more than happy to be host if you and he wanted to collaborate here in Cary.

I am aware that time is money and I would be more than happy to pay you your 'going rate' for your advice or work if you should decide to fix my problem.

Either way I would be proud to have you as a house guest on your way through.

This message was too long for a PM so I psted it here as a response

Hello Steve,

It looks like we are neighbors since I live about one mile from you. I would like to volunteer my labor (grunt) to help if you can get Glen to visit with you.

I don't know for sure at this point in time Steve, I have a lot of commitments at the moment already in the works, Ian's table to Canada is the top of the list right now as soon as I get back to Diamond, then I have a bar in PA with Diamond tables waiting on me as well as the Valley tables here in this post, and some Diamond billiard tables going to GA, as well as a GC3 to TX, and a Brunswick Anniversary 9ft to WA...almost forgot a Riley 6'x12" snooker table that I have to take up to Boston too...LOL....so,.......I don't know anything any more:grin:
